ETA FILMS AND HOLLYWOOD STORM WILL COLLABORATE ON “ASSAULT ON RIO BRAVO”
ETA Films led by Eric Brenner will team up with Alexander Nevsky and his Hollywood Storm production shingle on producing the Western ASSAULT ON RIO BRAVO. The film is inspired by true events and the life story of Ivan Turchaninov, the Colonel in the Russian Imperial Guards who immigrated to America in 1856 and later became the only Russian hero of the American Civil War.
Better known by his Anglicized name of John Basil Turchin, Ivan became a Union army brigadier general and led two critical charges that saved the day at Chickamauga and was among the first to lead soldiers up Missionary Ridge.
ASSAULT ON RIO BRAVO will be directed and executive produced by Joe Cornet. Script was written by Craig Hamann. Composer Sean Murray will serve as a co-producer and will compose the musical score for the film. Casting is presently underway in Los Angeles.
Producer and financier Eric Brenner‘s credits include “Crazy Heart”, “Kidnapping Mr. Heineken”, “Erased”, “Misconduct” and “Kill Chain” among others. Alexander Nevsky produced and starred in a string of international action films (“Black Rose”, “Showdown in Manila”, “Maximum Impact”, “Red Prophecies”), he is also an active member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and he votes for the Golden Globe Awards.
