Twenty-five years later, it's impossible to forget where I was as the events of September 11 unfolded. One horrific moment after another.
I remember the shock, fear, and heartbreak. I remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the extraordinary courage of the first responders and ordinary people to ran into the danger to help.
I also remember the days after - when we were all united, if even for a short time. We were a little more patient, a little more compassionate, and a little kinder.
Today, as we remember those whose lives were lost, may we also honor them by carrying that spirit forward - caring for one another, supporting our communities, and remembering that what unites us is far greater than what divides us.
On this 25th anniversary, we will never forget.
