⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Know the difference between a real fraud alert and a fake one.

A First Financial Bank customer recently received a fraudulent voicemail claiming to be from our Fraud Prevention Team. The message said there was a “time-sensitive flagged payment” and instructed the customer to call a number provided in the voicemail.

The call was not from First Financial Bank or our debit card fraud detection service.

Here’s what our customers should know:

If suspicious activity is detected on your First Financial Bank debit card, our card company may contact you on our behalf.

If you are enrolled in text alerts, you may receive a text first asking you to confirm a specific transaction, such as:

“First Financial Bank Fraud Alert: Did you use debit card ending in 1234 for $140 at XYZ.com? Reply Y or N.”

You may also receive a phone call identifying the caller as the First Financial Bank Fraud Detection Center and asking you to verify a recent transaction.

What we will NEVER ask for during one of these fraud alerts:

• Your full Social Security number
• Your online or mobile banking credentials
• Your PIN
• Your full debit card number
• Passwords or other account login information

If a call or message doesn’t feel right, don’t use the phone number provided in the message. Hang up and contact First Financial Bank directly using a number you know is ours.

When in doubt, verify first. We’re always happy to help you determine whether a fraud alert is legitimate.

Please share this information with friends and family. A few minutes of awareness can prevent a costly scam.
