Update from Honduras:

Yesterday we installed water filters for 12 different families up in the mountains of the Buena Vista community.

For only about $20 we take a big bucket, some big rocks, some small rocks, and about 100 pounds of sand, and over the course of 2 -3 weeks, this simple invention becomes its own living bio zone, filtering out harmful bacteria and organisms, and lasting up to 10 years!

How the Filter Works
• Design: A plastic container holds layered sand and gravel.
• Function: A live layer of bacteria grows inside and consumes bad bacteria as water passes through.
• Capacity: Filters roughly 5 gallons in 30 minutes, totaling over 25 gallons per day.
• Lifespan: Designed to last more than 10 years for an entire household.
• Outreach: Over 2,000 filters have been installed to help families access clean water.

Update from Honduras:

Tuesday was the first day of Vacation Bible School. We had the 1st- 3rd graders, but the little kindergartners were so precious hanging out their windows trying to see what we were doing, we decided to add them, and we loved having these litttle ones be a part of the group!

We also had a group of guys do some food deliveries to some sick and hurting families, and the youngest gave themselves the moniker of being the “Honduras Door Dash”.

In the evening we put on a Family Church Night- Wyatt McLean and Greg Patterson shared their testimonies. Both did great, and Wyatt (who is 17) said it was the first time he had given his whole testimony in that way- he was so well spoken and poised, you would have thought he had shared his story like that dozens of times. It was encouraging for everyone to hear how God has been at work in his life. Noah preached our sermon and his message was right on topic with that the pastor has been working on with many families in their church.

Update from Honduras:
Yesterday was our first work day of the trip. One team installed concrete floors, covering an entire 5 room home, plus a hallway!

Another group spent the morning building adobe walls with bricks that the homeowners had made. They then hosted a sports camp in the afternoon, playing Ultimate Frisbee with a bunch of 9th graders. Ayden taught the message and everyone appreciated him sharing how we can share God's light inside of us with others.

Our third group built an adobe wall latrine in the morning so that a family can have place to use the restroom, and also built a Pila, which the family can use to wash their hands, clean dishes, etc...This small addition to a home improves health and longevity for generations!
