Belt Insurance - Aging Joyfully

Belt Insurance - Aging Joyfully My husband Dan and I have called Battle Creek our home since 1990. Aging doesn't haven't to be scary.

We both worked in the same community where we raised our kids and now have seven adorable grandchildren to spoil. As a retired high school teacher, speech coach, and college instructor, I have always loved sharing my passion about education with others. Now that I have ventured into the world of insurance, I can continue to put those teaching skills to work as I share with you ways to build your f

inancial security. When we have peace of mind about not only our financial needs, but also our health concerns, we can truly focus on what brings us JOY!

๐Ÿ‚ Hello, September! ๐Ÿ‚

Summer temperatures may still be hanging on, but my favorite time of year has officially arrived! Our calendars will be filled with watching our grandkids play football, volleyball, softballโ€”and even a little baseballโ€”while also cheering on the Huskers in both football and volleyball. โค๏ธ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ

Bring on the crisp mornings, busy ballfields, Husker game days and all things autumn. Itโ€™s time to pull out those fall decorations and welcome the season I love most! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŒป

๐Ÿ“– Potential changes ahead: A little Medicare history lesson may help explain why 2027 could bring meaningful changes to stand-alone Part D plansโ€”and create a ripple effect across the Medicare Advantage marketplace.

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 delivered several important protections for people with Medicare:
โ€ข A $35 monthly cap on covered insulin
โ€ข $0 recommended adult vaccines
โ€ข Expanded Extra Help
โ€ข No Part D cost sharing in the catastrophic phase
โ€ข An annual limit on out-of-pocket prescription costs beginning in 2025
โ€ข Medicareโ€™s new authority to negotiate prices for selected high-cost drugs

But the law did more than lower what beneficiaries pay at the pharmacy counter. It also redesigned who pays the remaining cost.

Beginning in 2025, Part D plans became responsible for a much larger share of high prescription-drug spending.

When insurers submitted their first bids under this new structure, CMS saw the potential for major premium increasesโ€”especially among stand-alone Part D plans.
CMS responded by creating a temporary Part D Premium Stabilization Demonstration. It lowered participating PDP premiums by up to $15 per month in 2025 and $10 in 2026, while also limiting how much an individual planโ€™s premium could increase from one year to the next.

๐Ÿ›‘ That temporary support will end on December 31, 2026.

โœ”๏ธThis does NOT mean Part D is ending.
โœ”๏ธIt does NOT eliminate Extra Help, negotiated drug prices or the annual out-of-pocket protection.
โœ”๏ธAnd it does NOT remove the Inflation Reduction Actโ€™s separate protection limiting growth in the national base beneficiary premium to 6% per year through 2029.

What it does mean is that stand-alone Part D premiums could show more volatilityโ€”and more plan-to-plan variationโ€”in 2027. The final impact will not be known until CMS releases the 2027 plan landscape and plan-specific premiums in September. Some premiums may rise; others may remain stable or even decline.

My advice as we approach Annual Enrollment: Do not panicโ€”but do not assume your 2026 coverage will remain your best fit in 2027.

๐Ÿ“ฌ If you are enrolled in a stand alone Part D plan, read your Annual Notice of Change. Review every prescription. Compare the entire planโ€”not just its monthly premium.

Medicare is complicated. Education helps turn headlines into better decisions.

Iโ€™m pretty darn excited to finally share the newly revamped beltinsurancegroup.com!

This new site feels so much more like ME โ€” not simply a place to learn about insurance, but a reflection of how I approach this chapter of my life and the people Iโ€™m fortunate enough to serve.

๐ŸŽ Once an educator, always an educator.
I may have retired from the classroom, but teaching is still at the heart of what I do. My goal has never been to simply sell Medicare plans. I want to help people understand their options, ask better questions, feel confident in their decisions, and worry a whole lot less about Medicare.

And the new website more fully captures something else that means a lot to me โ€” my philosophy of AGING JOYFULLY. ๐Ÿ’œ

Growing older should be about living MORE โ€” not worrying more. Less worry about the โ€œwhat ifs.โ€ More JOY in the โ€œwhatโ€™s next.โ€

But thereโ€™s another part of this launch that makes this retired teacher especially proud. โค๏ธ

One of my former Norfolk High students, Dylan Frohberg, is the young entrepreneur behind this project. And apparently starting ONE business wasnโ€™t enough for him! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Dylan has already launched Frohberg Computers AND WebPageIQ.com.

How cool is it to watch a former student take his talents, ideas and work ethic and build businesses of his own โ€” and then years later have the opportunity to hire HIM to help me grow mine?!

Dylan and WebPageIQ arenโ€™t just giving my website a fresh new look. Heโ€™s helping me supercharge it so it can become an even better educational resource for people navigating Medicare AND a much more useful tool for growing and managing my business.

Thereโ€™s something pretty special about the teacher/student relationship coming full circle like this. I spent a lot of years encouraging young people to find their strengths, take chances and believe in what they could do. Now I get to sit back and brag a little when I see one of them doing exactly that. ๐Ÿฅน

So take a peek around the new site! ๐Ÿ‘‡
beltinsurancegroup.com

And while youโ€™re at it, check out WebPageIQ.com and keep an eye on Dylan Frohberg. This former teacher thinks heโ€™s just getting started. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ˆ America is getting older, and the numbers tell an important story.

๐Ÿ“Š According to the Administration for Community Living, 57.8 million Americans were age 65 or older in 2022, representing 17.3% of our population. By 2040, that share is projected to reach 22%โ€”more than 1 in every 5 Americans.

โ€ผ๏ธ And this generation isnโ€™t simply โ€œretiring.โ€
In 2023, ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ.๐Ÿ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง Americans age 65+ were still in the labor force, working or actively seeking work.

Those numbers have implications far beyond Medicare and Social Security. They affect our workforce, healthcare system, housing, caregiving, financial planning, businesses and communities.

But I also think they invite us to reconsider the way we talk about aging.

After spending much of my career in education and now working with people as they navigate Medicare and this next chapter of life, Iโ€™ve become even more convinced that aging should not automatically be associated with decline.

It can also mean experience. Freedom. Reinvention. Contribution. Travel. Volunteering. Grandchildren. New friendships. New careers. And finally having a little more time to decide what matters most.

That philosophy is at the heart of Aging Joyfully for me. โœจ

Yes, there are very real challenges that come with an aging population, and we need thoughtful conversations about how we prepare for them. But we should also recognize the tremendous knowledge, experience and value older adults continue to bring to our workplaces, families and communities.

On ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ž๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, Iโ€™m celebrating not just longer livesโ€”but the opportunity to help make those additional years healthier, more connected, more purposeful and, whenever possible, a whole lot more joyful. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
