APSO Detective Receives Statewide Negotiator of the Year Award:

Congratulations to Detective Laura Mueller on being named the recipient of the Louisiana Association of Crisis Negotiators' "Tracy Morgan" Negotiator of the Year Award.

Detective Mueller is the first recipient of the award since it was renamed in honor of Louisiana State Trooper and crisis negotiator Sergeant Tracy Morgan.

Detective Mueller received the statewide honor for her outstanding work during a critical incident involving a barricaded and suicidal individual. Through patience, professionalism, and compassion, she helped bring a highly volatile situation to a peaceful resolution and ultimately helped save a life.

We are incredibly proud of Detective Mueller and this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for representing the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office with excellence.

Over the last decade, I’ve had the opportunity to help hundreds of families with one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives — buying, refinancing, investing, relocating, and everything in between.

A lot has changed in 10 years. I’ve gotten married, became a dad to three amazing kids, and built a career that has provided for my family in ways I’m extremely grateful for.

I’m proud to have built this career as an introvert in what tends to be an extrovert-dominated business. Communication, honesty, consistency, knowledge, and genuinely caring about people can take you a long way.
At 32, I’m still one of the younger loan officers in the industry, but I’m grateful to already have a decade of experience behind me.

In the past year, I created the Duckin Mortgage Guy brand — a fun, memorable way to make mortgages feel less intimidating and more approachable. The biggest reason behind it was being able to include my family in what I do. My kids love helping give out ducks, and it has turned “Dad’s work” into something they can understand and be part of.

I’m extremely grateful for every client, realtor, title company, insurance agent, and referral partner who has trusted me along the way. Without referrals, relationships, and repeat support, a career like this does not happen.
