Led by United Way of Central Maryland's Emerging Leaders United group, our mission is to rally young professionals to fuel positive change in Baltimore by pledging to volunteer, donate or advocate for causes they are passionate about on Giving Tuesday. MISSION: to rally young professionals to fuel positive change in Baltimore by pledging to volunteer, donate or advocate for causes they are passion
ate about on and beyond. GOAL: to bring together young professionals from all our communities to pledge 614,000 volunteer hours, dollars and acts of kindness (one for every resident of Baltimore City), demonstrating a tangible, specific commitment to giving back over the course of the next year. The PASHON campaign, organized by United Way of Central Maryland and its young professionals group, Emerging Leaders United, is a collaboration among at least eight local young professionals groups, and the first of its kind since launched in 2012. The majority of campaigns nationwide focus on kicking off the charitable giving season with financial donations, with more than $168 million raised on 2016. The PASHON campaign recognizes the unique energy Baltimore’s 40 and under groups bring to civic engagement, and aims to harness that passion through a mass commitment of volunteerism, advocacy and dollars. On (11/28/17), the campaign will culminate with a networking event to engage members of all participating groups and all young professionals in our city and region at Power Plant Live. The campaign is already attracting attention from national media outlets ahead of its official project and website – pasHON.org – launch on November 11, 2017, and we expect that to grow as we pitch local media.
