Supporting Our Seniors Through Education and Awareness

As part of Elder Financial Abuse Awareness Month, one of our Member Representatives recently stopped by the Mower County Senior Center to deliver free financial fraud prevention resource kits for the center to share with its visitors.

At Mower County Employees Credit Union, we believe education is one of the strongest tools in preventing fraud and financial exploitation. By providing these resources, we’re helping empower community members with information that can help them recognize scams, protect their finances, and stay informed.

We’re proud to support our community and remain committed to promoting financial wellness and awareness for all—especially our seniors, who are often targeted by fraudsters.

What an incredible partnership and achievement! Congratulations to both the team at Mower County Government and the researchers for coming together in support of such an important cause. Raising more than $4,500 for cancer research is a testament to the generosity and dedication of our county employees and community. Some partnerships make a lasting impact.

Last Friday, we had the opportunity to welcome representatives from Mower County Government for a Paint the Town Pink check presentation. This year, they raised more than $4,500 for cancer research.

During their visit, Assistant Professor Dr. Eric Rahrmann and Senior Scientist Dr. Stan Peixoto shared how their research is helping advance our understanding of cancer and move us closer to better prevention, detection, and treatment strategies.

And while we're a little sad to see the summer food truck fundraiser become a thing of the past, we're thankful for the community support it generated and the impact it made along the way.

Thank you, Mower County, for helping move cancer research forward.
