Spalding County Farm Bureau SCFB is grateful to be a part of our local community and enjoy interacting with local residents and students to promote agriculture awareness.
SCFB was recognized for its outstanding member programs and agricultural advocacy activities at the 88th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) Convention held Dec. 7-9 on Jekyll Island. SCFB received the GFB Rewarding Excellence in Ag Program (REAP) Planter Award in the organization's medium membership division.

The Spalding County Farm Bureau Women's Committee along with the Young Farmer & Rancher committee participated in the "UGA Scarecrow in the Garden" program again this year. Pictured you will see the scarecrow display that the committees submitted. The display was named "The Farmers: Freddy & Faith." The scarecrows will be available for viewing at the UGA Research & Education Garden on West Ellis Road in Griffin from September 29th through November 5th from 8 am to 5pm.

The Spalding County Farm Bureau sponsored the Mobile Ag Experience for the 3rd through 5th grade students at Beaverbrook Elementary School in Griffin this month. The classroom showcases seven different Georgia commodities to help the students learn the importance of agriculture.

The Spalding County Women's Committee Chair, Romy Strickland attended the 2025 National Ag in the Classroom Conference in Minneapolis, MN. The attendees take part in workshops that connect agriculture to core subjects in alignment with national education standards. It also gives a firsthand look into Minnesota's diverse agricultural landscapes.
