WHEN DO YOU THINK RATES WILL GO BACK TO THE 3'S?
I am asked this question regularly and wanted to provide a historical perspective. In 2015 the Federal Reserve slashed rates to boost the economy coming out of the housing crash. In 2020-2021, the Federal Reserve again slashed rates to keep the economy going during the pandemic. These years were a result of extreme economic conditions and emergency policy procedures. I wanted to share a glimpse of the Mortgage Rate History to illustrate these were exceptions and not the norm.
The better question to ask is not when rates will go back to 3%? Instead, how can I position myself to purchase a home in today's market and refinance if and when rate conditions improve so I don't miss out on my dream home?
