I just sold a $5,000,000 Personal Umbrella Insurance policy!

That was pretty cool. Real estate is my cup of tea, of course, but I wanted to understand insurance for a number of reasons after relocating to Palm Beach County, FL. My main priority is making sure that my children are and loved ones are protected and not burdened when I transition.

To be honest, I didn't know what an umbrella policy was a year ago. If you have assets to protect, YOU NEED ONE!

I sold an $11,000 2-bedroom condo insurance policy a few months ago. That's wild! Moving to Florida is not for the faint of heart. If you're not ready, willing and able to give up a kidney for your homeowners (and auto) insurance, do not move here! I repeat...DO NOT MOVE TO FLORIDA! (aside from obvious reasons to not move here 🌈 ✊🏾 )

Hurricane Milton slammed into the state late Wednesday near Sarasota and maintained hurricane-force winds all the way across the Florida peninsula before entering the Atlantic Ocean. This is now the third hurricane to make landfall in Florida this year and storm season doesn't end until Nov. 30. A.M...

We'd never heard of Wellington, Florida either until we relocated there just over a year ago!

Fun fact:
Turns out, it's not just a quiet little spot on the map—it’s the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World! 🐴🎠Wellington is a suburban ‘Village’ (yes, we’re fancy like that) west of West Palm Beach, FL, nestled in Palm Beach County. Every year, when hurricane season takes a breather, equestrians—and even royals!—gallop into town for the winter season, turning our streets into an equestrian runway and giving the local economy a serious boost! 🌎💰

We picked Wellington because it’s close enough to the beach for a quick getaway but far enough from the hustle of the city, kind of like our old Atlanta community. Shout-out to Smynings (Smyrna/Vinings) fam 👋. 🌊☀️

P.S. Grateful to say our neighborhood was spared from those tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Milton’s early bands. Still keeping our neighbors in the area in our thoughts. Stay safe, everyone! 🙏🏡
