For Vashanti McKinley, Agency Delivery Specialist, giving back has become something she continues to make time for. She’s volunteered several times with Open Hand Atlanta, an organization that creates access to healthy meals and nutrition education to support health and wellness in the community.

It all started last year when Vashanti joined members of her team for a volunteer outing and the experience inspired her to return. We love seeing how one meaningful experience can spark a lasting commitment to giving back!

Meet Rumela Basu Plumley, a passionate marketer and proud member of the Silverton team.

As Director of Marketing, Rumela helps bring the Silverton brand to life through creative, advertising, and marketing efforts. After more than 11 years with Silverton, she knows the brand she represents very well. She says what she enjoys most about Silverton is the people she gets to work alongside. In her words, she “bleeds Silverton Blue” and absolutely adores her team and coworkers.

Giving back is also an important part of Rumela's life. She volunteers at her church, her local humane society, and with The Silverton Foundation. She believes that “success without sharing is failure,” and she puts that belief into action by giving her time to causes that matter to her.

Rumela has a new hobby that might surprise you: milling her own grain to make baked goods. And if that wasn't impressive enough, she's also a weightlifting enthusiast who can deadlift 195 pounds!

Founded in 2012 by Josh Moffitt, CEO and Founder of Silverton Mortgage, the Foundation’s mission is simple but powerful: to provide mortgage and rent assistance for families with sick children, easing financial and emotional burdens so parents can focus on their child’s health.

What makes this mission sustainable is the way it’s woven into our work. A donation is made from every loan we close in honor of our clients, directly supporting families in need. Additional funding comes through team member giving, fundraising events like our annual Chip In For A Cause golf tournament, personal donations, and Partner Programs.
