Sometimes the moment calls for a pause, not a pivot.

We live in a world that constantly tells us that movement equals progress. So when things slow down, doors don’t open immediately, or life feels still, we assume something must be wrong. We start running in different directions searching for answers, opportunities, validation, or relief.

But what if the pause is part of the process?

What if clarity is being formed in the stillness?
What if the opportunity is closer than you think?
What if changing course too soon causes you to miss the very thing you’ve been praying for?

In the world of investing, we often remind clients that emotional decisions made too quickly can cost them the opportunity to experience the best days of the market. History has shown that patience, discipline, and staying grounded through uncertainty often produce the greatest rewards.

Life works the same way.

Many of us can look back and remember moments when we walked away too soon, gave up too early, or shifted direction out of frustration—only to realize later that breakthrough, alignment, or opportunity was right around the corner.

Pause. Breathe. Gain clarity.
Not every standstill is failure.
Not every delay is denial.
Not every quiet season requires drastic action.

Sometimes your next chapter needs you to stop running long enough to recognize the door that’s already beginning to open.

To anyone feeling exhausted from chasing change in too many directions: don’t lose hope too soon. Trust the process unfolding in front of you. Your pause may be preparing you for something greater than your panic could ever produce.

About last night… congratulations to all of the graduates of the Emory University - Goizueta Business School Start:ME Atlanta program. As a mentor, I couldn’t be more proud of my mentees and the incredible cohort from the Southside campus.

These business owners made a powerful investment—14 weeks dedicated to refining their ideas and strengthening their existing businesses to accelerate growth. They remained nimble, pivoted when necessary, and embraced the process with intention. But what stood out most was their ability to expand their vision, thinking bigger and more boldly about what’s possible for their businesses and their communities. The future is bright, and I’m honored to have been part of their journey.

Congratulations to all of the 2026 graduates, awardees, and grant winners!

Yesterday was all about the lady of the hour,

Her Don’t Paint Your Lips Red book release wasn’t just an event, it was an experience. An intimate room, powerful conversations, and a safe space for both women and men in leadership to reflect, recalibrate, and rise.

We leaned into real dialogue around:
✨ Accountability
✨ Self-assessment and regulation
✨ Owning your brilliance without apology

What I appreciated most was the authenticity in the room. No pretense. Just a collective of leaders committed to doing the inner work that fuels outward impact.

It’s always a gift to be surrounded by loving, generous thought leaders who are not only building influence but doing so with intention and integrity.

I’m looking forward to diving deeper into the book and continuing the conversation.

And yes… I found a new shade of red lipstick 💄because sometimes, evolution looks like confidence you can see and feel.

April is Financial Literacy Month, a time when conversations around money take center stage.

But here’s what I know for sure:

Personal and business financials are not separate conversations, they are the foundation of generational wealth.

Income is what you earn while you’re working.
Wealth is what takes care of you when you’re no longer working.

That shift from earning to owning is where everything changes.

When hustling turns into holdings, you don’t just create money…

You create options.
You create stability.
You create the power to choose the life you want to live.

That’s exactly why I wrote my new book, From Hustling to Holdings.

It’s more than a message, it’s a blueprint. One that challenges how you think about income, ownership, and long-term financial strategy, while giving you practical steps to move with intention.

If you’re ready to think differently about how you build and sustain wealth…

Now is your moment.

Still reflecting on the power of the Inaugural FundHer for Success Brunch…

To be in a room filled with history makers, visionaries, builders, and bold women choosing to show up fully in their purpose—it was more than an event. It was an experience.

Receiving this honor from FundHer for Success was deeply meaningful, not just because of the recognition, but because of what it represents.

It represents the journey.

A journey of building while navigating life in real time.
A journey of staying committed to the vision—even when the path shifts.
A journey of choosing faith, focus, and forward movement… no matter the season.

As I shared during my acceptance, what has carried me is simple:

✨ The vision keeps you focused.
✨ Faith keeps you anchored.

Purpose doesn't pause for pressure.

This season of my life—balancing business, purpose, and caregiving—has stretched me in ways I never imagined. But it has also refined me. It has reminded me that what we’re building is bigger than us.

We are building legacy.
We are walking in answered prayers.
We are standing on the sacrifices of those who came before us.

And in rooms like FundHer for Success, you’re reminded—you don’t have to do it alone.

To every woman in that room: keep going.
Keep building.
Keep refining the vision as you evolve.

You may be the first but you don't have to be the last because the very thing you’ve been called to create…
is already creating impact beyond what you can see.

Thank you, Kenya Simmons and FundHer for Success, for creating a space where women are not only celebrated—but empowered to rise. So much rich history was in the room today. It was truly the energizing hug that I didn't know that I needed.

Thank you to Kristin Dolan for closing out Women's History Month with me as my plus one for the event and for providing tools to support Black women as they build and protect their financial legacy! What a time we have had together this past week....

Congratulations to all of the grant recipients and the other award recipients! You are an inspiration....

Write the vision. Make it plain. And don’t forget… sometimes the vision evolves—so update it.

For the past three years, I’ve been in the fight of my life—building a business while serving as the primary caregiver for my 96-year-old mother.

There were days when the weight felt overwhelming. Moments where everything around me was shifting faster than I could stabilize it.

But the vision…
The vision kept me focused.

And my faith?
That’s what kept me anchored.

This Women’s History Month has brought a new level of clarity and refinement for me. What I once thought was the vision was only a glimpse. What’s unfolding now is far greater than I imagined.

This season—though challenging—has been sacred.

Caring for my mother has given me the opportunity to witness, up close, the depth of her sacrifices. The dreams she quietly set aside… so I could boldly pursue mine.

That perspective changes you.

It deepens your purpose.
It sharpens your vision.
It reminds you that what you’re building isn’t just for you.

It’s legacy work.

So if you’re in a season where life feels heavy, unclear, or stretched…

Go back to the vision.
Refine it.
Rewrite it if you must.

But don’t abandon it.

Because sometimes the very season that feels like a detour…
is actually divine alignment.

I’m still processing all that took place at the ReCharge Your Vision with Prayer Conference last weekend.

When I tell you that Amber K. Abney, M.B.A. is intentional about executing her vision with excellence—please believe me.

This visionary is surrounded by an extraordinary circle of men and women who left no detail untouched, creating an immersive experience that truly edified the Body of Christ. There are honestly no words to fully capture what happened—but one thing is certain: we all left recharged.

Whether you were an author, keynote speaker, praise and worship leader, vendor, or attendee, there was a powerful sense of alignment and purpose that could be felt in every moment.

Congratulations on Year 3, Amber! I know even greater is ahead, and I praise God for your “yes.” 🙏✨

What a week!

Yesterday, I closed it out at the 2026 TWE Retreat hosted by Dr. Nancy J. Lewis, MS, SHRM-CP, PHR, RCC.

For those who may not know, this is the very room where—just one year ago—I prayed and believed God would give me the wisdom and insight to write From Hustling to Holdings.

Yesterday was a true full-circle moment. I had the opportunity to stand and share what obedience, faith, and a prayer answered can produce.

Truth be told, I was like Jonah—sitting in the belly of avoidance. For years, I ran from the assignment, despite the many voices telling me it was time to write the book.

But there is something powerful about being in rooms where women:
✨ See your brilliance
✨ Challenge you to rise above mediocrity
✨ Hold you accountable to your next level

Those rooms matter.

I’m already looking forward to 2027, because the gems shared yesterday were priceless. I’ve been challenged to reflect and move differently:

1. What picture am I drawing?
What am I hearing, sensing, and responding to? My internal dialogue matters.

2. What am I building—especially with AI?
Am I being intentional about creation and impact?

3. Where am I headed—and what is my true priority?
Can I clearly envision what that priority looks like fully realized?

4. Life gets better after menopause—but stewardship is required.
Nourishment, hydration, and rest are non-negotiable.

5. Dream. Build. Live.

6. Care for the caregiver.
I must prioritize myself, too.

I am ready for all of it. 🙌🏾

There’s something incredibly special about celebrating wins in a room full of purpose-driven leaders and The 6 Summit gave me one of those unforgettable moments.

I had the absolute pleasure of participating in a book exchange with Dr. Renée Baker, DBA, RCC™️, CFEI®, as we both celebrated the release of our newly published books. 📚✨

Moments like this are a reminder that authorship is more than writing a book—it’s about sharing lived experiences, frameworks, and wisdom that can transform lives and legacies. To exchange books with another powerhouse woman who is equally committed to impact, excellence, and service was truly an honor.

These are the kinds of connections that don’t just inspire—they expand vision, deepen purpose, and reinforce the importance of collaboration over competition.

Congratulations again, Dr. Renee Baker, on your incredible work and contribution. I can't wait to read your book. I’m grateful to be in this season of authorship alongside you.

👉🏽 Call to Action:
Be intentional about who you build with. Get in rooms where ideas are exchanged, visions are elevated, and purpose is affirmed. And most importantly—support the voices who are bold enough to share their message with the world.
