Most people think travel is something you save up for once a year. But what if it could be woven into your everyday life instead?

There's a whole world of people learning how to combine travel with income, not through luck, but through understanding the tools and systems available to everyday people, not just industry insiders.

It's less about "quitting your job to travel" and more about building something on the side that gives you more freedom over how and when you travel.

Curious how it actually works? Happy to walk you through it, no pressure, just information.

Thinking about becoming a travel agent from home?

Here are five common myths, cleared up:

Myth 1: You have to be a travel expert already.
Most people start as travel lovers. Training and tools help you learn the rest.

Myth 2: It's full-time or nothing.
Many people begin part-time, alongside work or family, and go at their own pace.

Myth 3: You need an office.
It's home-based. A laptop, a phone, and a Wi-Fi connection get you started.

Myth 4: You have to sell to strangers.
A lot of it starts with people you already know, who are already planning trips.

Myth 5: It works the same for everyone.
It doesn't. Your time, effort, and goals shape your experience, so it's worth understanding the model before deciding.

It isn't for everyone. But if you love travel, enjoy helping people, and want a flexible way to work, it's good to know how it really works.

Got a question about it? Drop it in the comments, and I'll answer.

What if your next trip cost you less than you think and you learned how to make travel work for you, not just around your schedule?

Most people plan their lives around a two-week vacation once a year. But there's a growing number of people learning how to weave travel into their everyday life, earning from it, not just spending on it.

It's not about luck. It's about knowing the tools and systems that make it possible.

Curious how it works? Happy to share, no pressure, just information.

What if the time you spend travelling could also earn you income?

That's what residual income means: not working more hours, but building something that keeps working for you even when you're not actively "on".

For our Hispanic community, often raised on the idea that success only comes from working hard your whole life, this can look different:

✈️ Turn your love of travel into a source of income.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Build something that benefits your family, not just your boss.
💰 Earn commission not just from your own trips, but by helping others plan theirs.
🏡 Work from home on your own terms

This isn't about getting rich quick. It's about patiently building something that's yours.

Let's clear something up: being a travel agent in 2026 isn't about sitting at a desk booking flights all day. ✈️

It's about:
🗺️ Curating experiences people can't easily plan themselves
🤝 Building relationships with suppliers, resorts, and cruise lines
💼 Running a flexible, home-based business on your own time
💰 Getting paid commission for something you'd probably do for free anyway (hello, trip planning for friends!)

If you're the person your circle already comes to for travel advice, you might already be doing half the job, just without getting paid for it.

Curious what the day-to-day actually looks like? Ask me anything in the comments. 👇

Ever wondered how people build a lifestyle that pays them to explore the world?

That's the idea behind becoming an independent travel agent. It's not about being tied to a desk; it's about creating an income stream that works around the life you actually want to live.

Here's what that can look like in practice:
✈️ Book travel for others (and often for yourself) at agent pricing.
🏡 Run it from home, on your own schedule.
💰 Earn commission as a side income or grow it into something bigger.
🌍 Turn a love of travel into an actual business.

It's not a "get-rich-quick" thing; it's a real opportunity for people who want more flexibility and are willing to learn the ropes.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." — Lao Tzu

I used to think building a life like this required some huge leap, quitting a job, taking on massive risk, and having it all figured out before starting.

It didn't. It started with one small step: learning something new on the side, without blowing up anything else in my life first.

For me, that step was learning how the travel industry actually works from the inside, how booking access works, how income can be built around it, and how much of it can be done from a laptop, on my own time.

I'm not saying everyone needs to do exactly what I did. I'm saying the "ideal life" people picture usually isn't one big decision. It's a small first step, taken consistently.

If you're curious what that first step could look like for you, I'm happy to share what I've learned.

A friend of mine moved back in with her mother last year, not because anything was wrong, just because she wanted to be present while her mom could still enjoy having her around.

The hard part wasn't the decision to be there. It was figuring out how to still earn an income while doing it.

That's the piece people don't talk about enough. Working from home isn't just about convenience for a lot of people; it's what actually makes caregiving possible. No asking for time off. No choosing between a pay cheque and being present for someone who needs you.

I've learned there are more ways to build income from home than most people realize, including through something as simple as helping people book their travel.

If you're in a season where being present for someone matters more than a 9-to-5 ever could, I'm happy to share what I've learned.

Most people think travel discounts are only for people who travel constantly or that you need to be a "travel agent" in the traditional sense to access them.

Here's what's actually true:

You don't need to travel often to benefit. Even booking one or two trips a year through the right access can save real money. Hotels, cruises, resorts, and packages that aren't always visible on public booking sites.
"Travel agent" today looks nothing like it did 20 years ago. No shopfront, no suit, no desk phone; it's a laptop, a few hours a week, and knowing where to look.
The income side is separate from the travel side. Some people do this purely for their own trips. Others turn it into a small income stream by helping friends and family book theirs. Both are valid reasons to learn how it works.

I wish someone had explained this to me plainly before I looked into it myself, so consider this me doing that for you.

Happy to answer questions if you're curious how it actually works.
