Artistic Dwellings opened its doors in early 2017 and is the manifestation of Mike Smith’s passion for injecting new life into historic homes throughout the In-town Atlanta area. A history buff with a passion for people, Mike speaks of a tangible mystery felt when he walks into a neglected home. “I enjoy peeling back the layers and finding inspiration to create new life so these structures can beg
in again.”
Mike expresses his thoughts. “There are still many stories yet to unfold in Atlanta’s diverse culture. I want to be a part of revisioning these magnificent older homes for the next chapter... and all the stories yet to be lived.”
“I am grateful to reside in this lively and creative city. Leaving my fingerprint on this community is a blessing,” says Mike. While transforming older homes and spaces has been Mike's passion and has fed his creative appetite, this initial focus has evolved into other home design / decorating services. "Initially, I saw myself as the investor and designer, so that I could implement my own vision and ideas" he explains. "As time went on and people saw the results of what I was doing, they started asking for help creating a vision specifically for them and for their living spaces. I am finding this to be just as motivating, but sometimes more challenging." When questioned, Mike clarifies "That's not a bad thing. It's the challenge that makes me want to go beyond what a client sees as even possible." Mike has recently (June 2024) purchased a home in Sarasota, FL. He is currently drawing up renovation plans and once complete will be his Sarasota base.
