Industrial Repair Inc. is seeking a Specialty Coatings applicator to install high performance epoxy coatings and to perform composite repairs using high performance repair composites in a variety of industrial and commercial facilities. This position is full time with variable working hours. The selected candidate will be required to work at client facilities as well as in a shop environment. The selected candidate may be assigned and as is expected to perform routine duties at the shop. The selected candidate will be expected to use proper PPE and to be an active participant in a safety program. A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with sandblasting/abrasive blasters, multiple power tools, epoxy coatings or industrial/commercial maintenance is a plus. Candidates with proven trade skill, verifiable trade certifications and solid work history may find expanded earning potential. Required experience:
• Industrial painting, coatings or skilled maintenance: 3 years
Education:
• High school or equivalent
Qualifications:
• Mechanically inclined - must have mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and solve/repair basic equipment issues
• Possesses honesty, integrity, good work ethic, motivation and a willingness to learn
• Successful completion of ergonomic evaluation with demonstrated ability to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds
• Must pass a respiratory and fitness for duty physical exam.
• Ability to stand and work for 10+ hour days
• Must be able to work in tight and confined spaces for long periods of time as well as perform high work when required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on project demands (minimal notice for daily overtime)
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team setting.

• Must be able to read and interpret product data and safety data sheet information, and properly mix and thin industrial and specialty coatings.
• Candidate must know how to safely and properly set up and operate abrasive blast equipment as well as conventional, airless and plural component spray equipment.
• Must be able to pass a skills test for sandblasting & painting using conventional spray pump and demonstrate ability to spray for mil thickness.
• Prior experience with epoxy, urethane, polyurea materials, as well as fall protection, respirators and PPE relevant to this line of work, confined space and lead/hazardous paint removal. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Executes on-site job requirements.
• Products, buildings and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to choose best solutions for each application as it pertains to safety, functionality and performance working within the guidelines of the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
• Answers customers’ questions to the best of his/her ability
• Cleans up job site after each job is completed
• Pulls inventory as needed to complete jobs
• Maintains the vehicle and all tools and equipment
• Determines and clearly identifies proper materials and material quantities for new and existing projects
• Evaluates customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot customer issues, and present a description of a work order to a customer
• Able to work outdoors for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
• Pays attention to detail
• Experience using pneumatic and power tools (grinders, drills, etc.)
• Industrial/commercial coatings experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check
• Verifiable work history
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to report to work on time
• Follow and adhere to all applicable Safe Job Procedures and Visual Standard Work.

• Willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• SSPC C7 Abrasive Blast, C12 Spray Application or Coatings Applicator Specialist (CAS) Level II (or higher) is desired or ability to successfully pass SSPC CAS certification exams.
• NACE or SSPC Coatings inspection certification is desired
• Whenever possible, IR crew works a four-day, 10-hour work schedule, however this subject to change depending on project and client needs.
• Looking for qualified candidates in the Gainesville, Flowery Branch and Oakwood, GA area
• When Industrial Repair does not have a job scheduled, the candidate will be assigned maintenance jobs at our office.
