MAMA Fund Zine Launch! We are excited to announce that we have created a zine all about timebanking and how we approach mutual aid and we are launching our zine online!

In this zine you will learn how to timebank, read stories of mutual aid, appreciate MAMA Fund collective and staff original art and stories, and get the opportunity to submit your own story.

We also have physical copies! But you have to come meet us in-person at one of our events or tabling occasions :)

Please join us this month for another in-person event as we continue practicing timebanking and mutual aid together. We invite everyone to be there, new and old timebankers, and bring your neighbors, friends and family. Thusday, October 16th 6-8pm.

We are back with our in-person events starting next month, in June! We have taken some time to really think about what kind of timebank we are trying to build and what kind of mutual aid values we are trying to build it on. A timebank is simply a tool for doing mutual aid, practicing it, and getting better at it. Ultimately a timebank will lead to building relationships with each other and strengthening our commitment to building alternatives to the current ways we meet our needs.

This event will feature a facilitated Offers and Needs Market process as well as a launch of our political education zine that's all about timebanking!

Hi! We hope everyone is well and safe! We are having an event on October 13th and we want to you to come!

This event is a special one because we are collaborating with the Black Sustainability Network as part of their annual Black Sustainability Summit: https://www.blacksustainabilitysummit.com/ on Day 3 for a vegan brunch and Offers and Needs market! It is a ticketed event and we are able to have our Mama Fund community attend for free. This event is open to BIPOC.

Please send us a message if you wish to attend and we will send you the discount code for a free ticket. If you need childcare, please let us know and we will send you the childcare form to fill out.

In consideration of our caterer and childcare provider, we need to be aware of how many people plan on attending so please only RSVP if you are able to attend on Sunday.

Additionally, please email [email protected] or text (678) 433-9556 to let us know if plans change so we can offer these limited seats to someone else.

Our second in-person event two weeks ago was engaging and meaningful! Thank you to those who came out.

We learned about what a time bank is and went through an Offers and Needs Market where we got excited about our passions and shared what we have to offer. And we also got vulnerable about our needs and shared what kind of help we could use. It's really as simple (and powerful) as that! Participating in timebanking and offers and needs markets is participating in the solidarity economy!

We had someone offer babysitting in exchange for cooked meals and someone looking for help with doing their kids' hair, as well as someone who needed job recommendations, and many more offerings and needs were shared, and connections made!

Come join us with your own offers and needs and connect with others at our next in-person events this fall! 🍂 🍁 🍂

MAMA Fund’s practice in mutual aid has been distributing direct cash payments, and now our focus is on building a Time Bank in which community members can directly support each other. MAMA Fund’s focus on alternative systems stems from an awareness of the wealth of resources among us, the needs of the most vulnerable, and our folks’ experiences of failed and limited systemic and government support. We deserve to thrive.
