WHY DID MY CREDIT SCORE DROP WHEN I PAID OFF MY CAR?

When you pay off an auto loan there are two things that will happen.
The account will reflect a $0 balance and be considered paid in full

They will close the account
This does in fact usually result in a loss in your credit score as it can affect the overall age of your accounts.

Many times people think that paying off a vehicle will help their credit score but typically it lowers it a bit as you have built some long term payment history on your account.
