Boss day! I had to put behind the lens to capture my birthday portraits. And although I take photos of everyone else, I’m always shy in front of the camera. I still can’t believe I have made it on God’s land for 4 decades. Turning 40 meant more to me than I express in words. Turning 40 meant I beat the odds, turning 40 meant I have seen a lot and endured a lot, turning 40 means entering into a new chapter in life. I’m grateful and I am thankful for this life. With all of the ups and downs, round and rounds, I am blessed. This year hit different for a number of reasons personally for me. It makes 20 years of missing my mommy, my grandmother would have been 100, seeing my dad go through what he endured health wise, being a caretaker, making tough decisions on his life, all while still having to smile and push through it all. This chapter is called being open and honest, following dreams, pushing through the unimaginable, and being successful!
