Does not have to be a long and tedious process- You may be able to qualify for ACA plans even after open enrollment. There are health-based plans that are not based on open enrollment just health-based. For more information reach out via email or phone happy to help!

If you leave your job or are let go, the company has to offer you COBRA which is your health insurance still- If that's the case they normally stop paying their portion and rates can go up sometimes triple. If that's the case I can show you other options on the private or public markets to potentially start saving you money!

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about having to stick with an insurance plan once you sign on. A good rule of thumb, outside of some employer group plans no real insurance is binding- If the company you are looking at makes you sign a contract it might be a limited benefit plan that does not come with a max out of pocket. If you'd like to take a look at new options or compare to what your current plan is let me know

Here's a basic Health Insurance seminar either review or great to know while exploring options:

Deductible - A fixed dollar amount during the benefit period - usually a year - that an
insured person pays before the insurer starts to make payments for covered medical
services. Plans may have both per individual and family deductibles

Maximum out-of-pocket expense - The maximum dollar amount a group member is
required to pay out of pocket during a year. Until this maximum is met, the plan and
group member shares in the cost of covered expenses. After the maximum is reached, the
insurance carrier pays all covered expenses, often up to a lifetime maximum.

Premium - Agreed upon fees paid for coverage of medical benefits for a defined benefit
period. Premiums can be paid by employers, unions, employees, or shared by both the
insured individual and the plan sponsor.
