Friday Health Plans of Georgia is withdrawing from the health insurance marketplace effective 07/31/2023. If you or someone you know is on a plan from this carrier, please send them my way so that I can get them switched over to a new carrier without any interruption in coverage.

Dental procedure costs are on the rise. A true Dental Insurance plan (not a discount plan) can help offset these costs greatly. Even if you don't think you'll need Dental Insurance anytime soon, keep in mind that the lowest cost plans have waiting periods set out at 6-12 months for certain services.

To save money on premiums, a good idea is to get coverage in place now while your teeth are fine versus waiting until there is an actual issue to fix. It will be more expensive then. Trust me, you will thank your future self!

**Important dates to know for Medicaid Redetermination**

Georgia is scheduled to initiate the Medicaid Redetermination process in June 2023. Members will begin receiving letters from the state as early as April 15th.

Florida is scheduled to initiate the Medicaid Redetermination process in May 2023. Members will begin receiving letters from the state as early as Feb 1st (depending on the state).

Tennessee and Texas are scheduled to initiate the Medicaid Redetermination process in April 2023. Members will begin receiving letters from the state as early as Feb 1st (depending on the state).

North Carolina is scheduled to initiate the Medicaid Redetermination process in July 2023. Members will begin receiving letters from the state as early as Apr 1st.

South Carolina is scheduled to initiate the Medicaid Redetermination process in June 2023. Members will begin receiving letters from the state as early as Apr 1st (depending on the state).

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) estimates that as many as 15 million people will lose Medicaid coverage over the next 12 months. This is happening because the "Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)", which allowed for the continuous re-enrollment into Medicaid throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, is getting set to end on March 31, 2023.

Good news is this will create a Special Enrollment Period for all who are affected. If you or someone you know needs assistance during this transition, please have them reach out to me for guidance. 4 out of 5 enrollees can find plans that cost less than $10 a month.
