A couple plants blooming in the nursery now.
Anemonopsis macrophylla is one of my favorites that we grow. A beautiful late summer addition to the shade garden. I love how the flowers just seem to hang in the air over the foliage.
Both of these plants (and many more are now available for sale on the website). Hillsidenursery.biz

I have a weakness for Thalictrum and this is the one that started it all. Thalictrum rochebrunianum brings height and a plethora of delicate flowers.

I’ve been doing a lot of lab work recently (I am behind schedule).
Step 1. Pour medium into jars.

2. Put lids on jars.

3. Put jars in pressure cooker.

These are seedlings that have germinated from the seed I sowed in March and are ready to be transplanted into the newly made jars

This is a lady slipper seedling. Some are bigger than this and some are smaller. It just depends.

The jar on the left has 12 seedlings that I just transplanted into it from the jar on the right

These are jars of seedlings that have been in the jars since January. As you can see, they’ve started to grow their shoots and get longer roots. I’ll probably take them out of the jars in the fall.

This one I think look like a garden nymph screaming at something. It’s a single delphinium maackianum flower

Delphinium maakianum

Native Delphinium exaltatum

Aconitum kryolvii reaching towards the sun and Diphylleia cymosa in the background (look at all those seeds!!)

Actaea rubra ready for seed collection!

Another C. (A.) racemosa I’m stubborn about the name changes 😊
