Congratulations to the CAT-North FFA Chapter and Southern FFA Chapter on another amazing annual banquet!

We were excited to help celebrate the accomplishments of both programs’ students during the 2025-2026 academic year, from showing and selling their livestock at the Anne Arundel County Fair to helping more kids in Anne Arundel County learn about where their food comes from. We enjoyed the opportunity to congratulate the amazing women who provide them with not only agricultural education but mentorship, too.

We’re proud to support current and future farmers in Anne Arundel County, and we look forward to seeing what awaits all of this year’s outstanding honorees!

Calling ALL local chefs!

The Maryland Department of Agriculture is inviting chef teams to submit recipes featuring local ingredients for the Governor’s Buy Local Cookout: an annual event that highlights Maryland agriculture by pairing chefs with local farmers and watermen to showcase foods grown, raised, and harvested in the state.

This year’s event will take place at MDA headquarters on July 17 and recipe submissions are due by June 2, so learn more and submit your recipe - or encourage your favorite chef to! - today: https://marylandsbest.maryland.gov/governors-buy-local-cookout/

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’d like to thank the Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce, the Anne Arundel County Department of Health and Anne Arundel County Public Library, Skipper's Pier, and the many businesses that helped make “The Pressure to Perform: Mental Health in Professionals” happen earlier this month.

We were proud to support the critical event, which featured an inspirational presentation by The Journey2Well, LLC owner (and IVP graduate!) Lauren Jenkins, and real conversations about assessing and prioritizing your mental health.

After two great visits to Lothian Elementary School last month, Aggy was excited to make his first landing in Annapolis, at Rolling Knolls Elementary, on May 19.

Shelley Garrett, Grayson Orphe, and Steve Adams were there to meet him, and the group had a great time testing students’ farming knowledge and delivering some fun agricultural education during their visit.

Thanks to the great group of teachers and all the wonderful second graders for having us!

Aggy is already looking forward to connecting with students and supporting the Anne Arundel County 4-H/ FFA Livestock Auction at the Anne Arundel County Fair Inc. in September, so save the date!
