The Johnson Goaltending Camp is headed to Alpena on July 7-8, giving local goalies a fantastic opportunity to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and get quality instruction right here at home!

Whether you're new to the position or looking to take your game to the next level, this camp is designed to help goalies improve their technique, movement, positioning, and overall performance between the pipes.

We’re excited to welcome internationally known hockey skills coach Sean Skinner back to Northern Lights Arena starting Monday, August 17th!

This year will feature TWO different camps:

🔹 Stick Handling Camp
• Birth Years 2016–2019
• Birth Years 2008–2015
• 5 sessions • 2 hours each
• Maximum of 25 skaters per group
💲$275

🔹 Body Position & Contact Confidence Camp
• Birth Year 2018 (with prior approval) and older
• 5 sessions • 1 hour each
• Minimum of 40 skaters required
💲$125

This is an incredible opportunity at a great price to learn from an internationally respected coach right here in Alpena!

🌎 About Sean Skinner:
Known worldwide as the “Stickhandling Guru,” Sean Skinner has worked with Hockey Canada, USA Hockey, the Swedish Hockey Federation, the IIHF, and top Russian hockey clubs. He has taught hockey skills in more than 40 countries and has led camps and clinics across North America, Europe, and Russia. Sean has also worked with NHL organizations, including running the Montreal Canadiens preseason training camp in front of more than 14,000 fans.

Their courage and selflessness gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day — including the opportunity to gather as a hockey family, cheer from the stands, and watch our kids chase their dreams on the ice.

This Memorial Day, Alpena Hockey Association remembers and thanks all who gave their lives in service to our nation. Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes.

Peyton is competing at the 2026 USA Hockey National Player Development Camp – Michigan Tryouts. She’s battling for one of just 90 forward spots, with only 5 players selected from Michigan.
If selected, she will advance to the 16/17 USA Development Camp held July 13–18 at Miami University—an incredible opportunity to compete among the nation’s top players!

Emma and the Toronto Sceptres will play the Ottowa Charge. As she continues her amazing pro career!

📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – SUPER KICKER RODEO 🤠

Northern Lights Arena is looking for volunteers for the Super Kicker Rodeo on May 8th & 9th!

This event supports the MPAC First Time Skater Fund, helping introduce new skaters to the ice and grow our hockey community. 🏒

Last year, MPAC donated over $500 in proceeds from this event to help cover the cost of spring LTS programs in our community.

We’d love to see AHA families step up and lend a hand!
