A longtime Aiken resident, Gary currently serves as Chairman of Aiken County Council and previously served two terms on Council, where he was elected Vice-Chairman three times and led the Administrative Committee for four years. Guided by a strong belief in public service, Gary is committed to responsible leadership, local accountability, and strengthening the community through thoughtful governance. He emphasizes collaboration, careful stewardship of public resources, and listening to diverse viewpoints to serve the best interests of the entire community — principles that closely align with Rotary International’s commitment to Service Above Self.

Beyond government service, Gary brings extensive experience in project controls and business management at the Savannah River Site and has remained deeply involved in civic and professional organizations throughout the community.

The 2026 Aiken Chamber Ambassador Team is ready to connect and serve the Aiken Chamber’s membership. The 39-member team, who represent a cross section of the Aiken Chamber membership, qualified for the prestigious program.

Ambassadors have a promi­nent position of responsibility in the business community. They act as the Aiken Chamber’s pri­mary liaisons for new and ex­isting members and are highly visible at Chamber events. Working in conjunction with the Chamber’s professional staff, the Ambassador Team works to ensure members are maximizing the many benefits of Chamber membership, such as networking opportunities, educational seminars, and a variety of marketing opportunities.
