WHERE IS UGANDA’S TAX MONEY GOING? A CONCERNED UGANDAN SPEAKS OUT

Since 2015 up to 2024, Uganda has collected over UGX 150 TRILLION in tax revenue.
Every year the numbers rise:

2015: UGX 9.8 Trillion
2016: UGX 11.0 Trillion
2017: UGX 12.7 Trillion
2018: UGX 14.5 Trillion
2019: UGX 16.6 Trillion
2020: UGX 17.6 Trillion
2021: UGX 19.0 Trillion
2022: UGX 21.7 Trillion
2023: UGX 23.7 Trillion
2024: UGX 25.7 Trillion

Total: Over UGX 150 Trillion collected from Ugandans.

But the big question remains:

What do Ugandans benefit from this money?

Because when you look around the country:

Roads are still broken and dusty.
Hospitals have no medicine.
Schools lack books, desks, and teachers.
Villages remain poor and forgotten.
Youth unemployment is rising.
Public services are collapsing.

Ugandans pay taxes every day — on fuel, food, airtime, mobile money, transport, business, and salaries.
Yet many citizens see no improvement in their daily lives.

This is not politics.
This is accountability.

As concerned Ugandans, we have the right to ask:

Where is the tax money going?
Why are basic services still suffering?
Why is development not reaching the people?
Why do Ugandans pay more but receive less?

Uganda’s wealth must benefit Ugandans, not a few individuals.

Uganda’s Gold Comes From Our Villages — So Why Are Our People Still Poor? 🇺🇬

Uganda has exported over \$25 BILLION in gold since 2015, yet the villages where this gold comes from remain in deep poverty.

Karamoja, Mubende, Kassanda, Buhweju, Busia — these regions produce gold, but they have broken roads, empty hospitals, and schools without materials.

So we must ask the government: Where is the gold money, why are gold-producing villages still suffering?

Why is there no development in the areas that generate national wealth?

Karamoja is rich in gold, but people there face hunger.

Mubende and Kassanda produce gold, but their roads are collapsing.

Busia mines gold, but families live in poverty.

If Uganda earns billions, why do hospitals lack Panadol?

If Uganda earns billions, why do roads look abandoned?

If Uganda earns billions, why are citizens threatened for asking questions?

These are not political attacks.

These are questions every Ugandan has the right to ask.

its really unfair to charge the hustlers1.5M per year yet even in transferring the money to Uganda still taxation is paid ..It's really a shaming for the people in the government to only think of their demands and not about the people who put them in power because if t wasn't the people's votes,u wouldn't have reached there.. please I beg u do the needfully to sort out the issue on board because its mentally torturing the hustlers...The taxation the pay is just enough...please we beg for another act of thought
