Well, this certainly caused much hilarity among my friends and family...

Alas, I have not branched into dairy farming. This lovely farmer is actually called Lucy. I photographed her for Vodafone Foundation’s many years ago. She was such a dynamic and energetic lady, who epitomised the strength of so many Kenya women who run their own businesses. And it was fascinating to get a small insight into technologies which enable small holder farmers to strengthen their business and finances.

The absolute joy of being back in the field, meeting fabulous individuals and shooting stories. These beautiful Dark Milka Asters were being harvested at a Marginpar farm in Thika.

With plenty of outdoors spaces enabling lots of social distancing, we are able to continue to work ensuring a safe environment for everyone involved.

I'm looking forward to more evenings like this in the not too distant future.

Happy World Children’s Day to all those fabulous, furious, hilarious, grumpy and wonderful kids I have had the pleasure of hanging out with.

May you continue to refuse to bring any kind of game face to a photoshoot.

I first met Consolata in 2014. She shared her story of how the M-Mama project, started in 2013 by Vodafone Foundation in partnership with Touch Foundation, had helped to save her life after she had a difficult birth to her twins Dotto and Kulwa.

It was such a joy to see her again in 2019, with her rambunctious twins (who suddenly became very shy in-front of the camera) looking happy and health. Her story really speaks to how critical it is to improve and facilitate women's access to health facilities and quality care.

The Maasai Mara is looking spectacular at the moment. What a glorious way to spend a couple of days. Even more so when you have been in lockdown for many many months. . . . .

NOW LIVE: www.salalewis.com The challenge of sifting through a decades worth of work to try and select the images to use on the site has allowed me to revisit some amazing locations and individuals I have been fortunate enough to work with over the years. So many images which made me laugh but never made the cut were of kids-looking entertained or deeply unimpressed by being part of a photo shoot.
