ANNOUNCEMENT/INVITATION
TFi (Thai Farang Initiative) was founded in July 2013 with a view to making ‘Fun events for charity’
Over the years we have created some brilliant events all of which have been solely with the aim of raising much needed funds for the disadvantaged in our community.
In that time through our efforts and the generosity of our sponsors, friends and supporters we are delighted to have raised 1,034,869.00 Thai Baht.
Over the last year or so, we have ceased hosting events, partly due to the changes in the economy and because the dynamics of Pattaya has changed somewhat.
We have however still assisted many poor families and children, but now the time has come to wind things down and to close our accounts by using our remaining funds to assist some of the foundations, NGO’s and communities that we have built up beautiful relationships with over the 6 years since we started.
Between now and Christmas we will be liquidating our accounts to the tune of 195,000 THB across these worthy causes:
1, Take Care Kids, are in need of a safe minibus and have started a fund-raising project to which we will donate 50,000 we will also spend an additional 2000 THB on Christmas bags for the kids - Total: 52,000 THB
2, The Glory Hut is a community where the inhabitants are living with HIV & AIDS, some of them are suffering from TB and they need individual huts separate from the main accommodation. We will give financial assistance. - Total: 25,000 THB
3, Dr Philippe Seur at Heart 2000 also helps Thai and farang patients who have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS but cannot receive help from the government medical programme. We will make a donation to help supply much-needed medications. - Total: 25,000 THB
4, TFi will join with the Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard to provide clean water filters to poor families and hill tribes in Northern Thailand (Mae Sot) who badly need clean water. We will make a donation of 20 water filters. - Total: 30,000 THB
5, BAAN KRUJA the Anti Trafficking and Child abuse Centre at Nong Prue are refurbishing the children’s sleeping huts putting in a new ceiling and renewing the beds and some pipework to prevent flooding. -Total: 30,000 THB
6, Kates Project again have benefitted from our fund-raising efforts in the past and on Sunday the 15th of December we will donate food parcels for about 80 families. Total: 33,000 THB
We would like to invite all our friends, supporters and sponsors to this final public handover, it will take place at 11am on Sunday the 15the of December at their small meeting place opposite the Buddhist Art Museum, Nong Prue.
Santa will be on hand to hand out some goodies to the children, and Kellogs have also made a donation to this event.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all of our contributors, the media, sponsors and the various team members over the years, including the current team Rodney Charman, Paul Johnson and his lovely girlfriend Pure, Greig Ritchie and Richard Arthur, and back through the years with Nick Lawrence, Earl Brown, Joe Cox and my co-founder Matt O’Sullivan.
This has been a totally fulfilling experience and one that has helped shape my life here in Thailand, we have worked with Jesters Care for Kids, Rotary Club Eastern Seaboard, Operation Smile, Women with a Mission and many others who give up their time to help the people of this beautiful country.
My sincere thanks to you all Paul Strachan Co-Founder of TFi
