สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าพัชรกิติยาภา นเรนทิราเทพยวดี กรมหลวงราชสาริณีสิริพัชร มหาวัชรราชธิดา ทรงพระประชวรหมดพระสติ ด้วยพระอาการทางพระหทัย และทรงเข้ารับการรักษาพระองค์ที่โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย มาตั้งแต่วันที่ ๑๕ ธันวาคม ๒๕๖๕ตามที่สำนักพระราชวังได้แถลงให้ทราบเป็นระยะแล้วนั้น

ตั้งแต่วันที่ ๒๑ พฤษภาคม พุทธศักราช ๒๕๖๙ สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าพัชรกิติยาภา นเรนทิราเทพยวดี กรมหลวงราชสาริณีสิริพัชร มหาวัชรราชธิดา พระอาการทรุดลงจากการติดเชื้อในพระนาภี (ช่องท้อง) จากการอักเสบของพระอันตะ (ลำไส้ใหญ่) ความดันพระโลหิตต่ำ พระหทัยเต้นผิดจังหวะ การแข็งตัวของพระโลหิตผิดปกติ แม้คณะแพทย์จะถวายการรักษาอย่างใกล้ชิดจนสุดความสามารถ แต่พระอาการทรุดหนักลงตามลำดับ จนถึงวันพฤหัสบดี ที่ ๑๑ มิถุนายน พุทธศักราช ๒๕๖๙ เวลา ๑๙ นาฬิกา ๔๘ นาที สิ้นพระชนม์ ณ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย ด้วยพระอาการสงบ สิริพระชันษาปีที่ ๔๗

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว มีพระบรมราชโองการโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อม ให้สำนักพระราชวังจัดการพระศพ ถวายพระเกียรติยศสูงสุดตามราชประเพณี ประดิษฐานพระศพ ณ พระที่นั่งพิมานรัตยา ในพระบรมมหาราชวัง
