Rising living costs and uncertain job security have become part of everyday life. Many people are starting to realise that relying on a single income source may no longer be enough.

Day trading is a short-term trading method, where trades typically last minutes rather than days, weeks, or months. Unlike longer-term trading, it is not exposed to unforeseeable aftermarket crashes or sudden overnight price spikes that can result in large losses. The idea is simple: trade for an hour or two during the day, close all positions, and sleep in peace. Over time, it becomes a skillset that can be developed by anyone willing to put in the effort to learn and practise with discipline.

Looking back at COVID, one thing became clear: those who had prepared ahead of time were able to navigate uncertainty far more comfortably than those who had to react on short notice. Having an alternative way to grow your money can make a real difference.

When approached properly, day trading can be structured, controlled, and consistent. Like any professional skill, it requires learning, practice, and a reliable system. Guidance from experienced traders can also shorten the learning curve and help avoid common mistakes.

At Concept of Price, we’ve been teaching this approach since 2007, supporting over 2,000 members along the way. Our Chief Trainer, Marcus Tay, has been a full-time trader for more than 22 years. In this session, he will share the tools he uses, explain what he trades and how he trades, and outline how he helps students work towards long-term financial independence.

If you’re curious about what day trading really is, and whether it’s something worth learning, this session is designed to give you clarity, not hype.

Recently, a member of our community (let’s call him “S”) shared his trading statements with me.

He’s 20 years old, currently doing National Service, and only trades when his schedule allows. During his block leave between November and December 2025, over 8 trading days, he recorded a cumulative result of USD 4,575, with 7 of those days closing positive.

What stood out to me was how the trades were taken. Coincidentally, “S” applied the same two trading strategies that I demonstrate during our FREE webinar.

👉 If you’re interested in understanding how “S” trades and how these strategies are structured, you’re welcome to join our free webinar.

Think you need a high win rate to be profitable in trading? Think again.

Many people believe that consistent wins are the only path to success. The truth is, even a strategy with an average win rate can be highly profitable, if you follow a solid risk management plan. Stick to it, and failure becomes almost impossible.

Over my 22 years in trading, I’ve developed strategies that are simple to follow and come with clearly defined risk rules. Anyone can use them. What matters most is discipline and a willingness to follow a proven system.

Trading for Cashflow vs. Trading for Growth

When most people think of trading, they imagine long-term investments — holding positions for weeks or months, waiting for markets to move.
That approach works well for portfolio growth, but it doesn’t provide immediate cashflow.
That’s where day trading comes in.
Day trading allows you to participate in the market daily, capturing small, consistent moves and extracting liquidity as a source of active income.
It’s not speculation — it’s a structured, time-managed approach to the market that many of our members use alongside their regular jobs.
________________________________________
Day Trading as an “Active Cashflow Skill”
Think of day trading as a part-time profession that you can build around your main career.
Unlike long-term investing, which ties up capital for extended periods, day trading focuses on:
• Short exposure — trades typically last minutes
• Defined risk — every trade has a stop loss and target
• Consistency over excitement — the aim is steady returns, not adrenaline
In that sense, it’s similar to running a small side business — one that requires structure, discipline, and time to master.
For those who learned to trade before the pandemic, the benefits were clear.
When COVID-19 hit, many traditional jobs and markets were disrupted.
But traders who had developed the skill to generate income from the market remained active and adaptable — no longer dependent on external factors.

What Our Members Say

“I have just started trading live, and my best night was five winners out of five trades.”
— KH Tan, Business Owner
“I have been trading currencies for many years as an institutional trader.
Concept of Price offers the best method so far — easy to grasp, and very accurate.”
— Dominic Lim, FX Trader
These are just a few examples of members who have applied our structured methodology to achieve measurable consistency.
________________________________________
Balancing Active and Passive Trading

We often remind our members that different types of trading serve different goals:
• Day trading → for active cashflow (short-term income)
• Swing / position trading → for portfolio growth (long-term capital appreciation)
The beauty lies in combining both — using day trading to generate liquidity and build confidence, while allowing longer-term trades to compound wealth over time.
When done right, this balance offers flexibility, independence, and resilience — especially in uncertain economic conditions.
________________________________________
Preparation Matters More Than Prediction
Learning a trading system can be fast.
But mastering it — understanding the rhythm of the market, managing your mindset, and developing intuition through experience — takes time.
That’s why we encourage our members to treat trading as a skill to be developed, not a quick fix. The markets will always change, but preparation and adaptability will always matter. As COVID taught many, having an additional source of skill-based income can make all the difference when the unexpected happens.

Why Good Trading Feels So Wrong?

Trading is probably the most counterintuitive activity one can do, and only when one truly accepts how uncomfortable it can be, he can achieve a breakthrough in his trading results.

If you’ve been trading for a while, you’ve probably realized something strange: many of the actions that lead to long-term success feel completely wrong in the moment. That’s because trading goes directly against our human instincts — especially our deep desire to avoid pain. But to win over time, we need to accept a simple truth: taking losses (thus pain) is part of being profitable.
________________________________________
The Paradox of Profitable Trading

In everyday life, we’re taught to avoid pain and seek comfort.
In trading, the opposite often applies. When we try to avoid the pain of a small loss, we often end up creating a much bigger one.
When we fear missing out, we jump into trades we shouldn’t.
When we chase comfort, we lose discipline.

Learning to handle that discomfort — not avoid it — is what separates consistent traders from emotional ones.
________________________________________
How to Turn Losses Into Strength

Successful traders don’t win by avoiding losses. They win by managing them well.
Here are four principles we emphasize with our members:
1. Don’t cherry-pick trades.
Trust your system. Skipping trades based on emotion usually means missing the ones that work best.

2. Maintain a strong risk-to-reward ratio.
You can lose more often than you win — and still be profitable — if your winners are larger than your losers.

3. Test and believe in your system.
Confidence comes from data, not hope. Once you’ve tested a method thoroughly, trust the probabilities.

4. Accept fear as normal.
Fear doesn’t go away. The key is to recognize it, understand it, and make decisions despite it.
________________________________________
Learning to Think Differently

As Mark Douglas wrote in “Trading in the Zone”, one of the most valuable books we recommend to all traders:

“The consistency you seek is in your mind, not in the markets.”
That mindset shift — accepting uncertainty, staying disciplined, and focusing on process over outcome — is the real foundation of trading success.

Our Philosophy at Concept of Price Trading
At Concept of Price Trading, we don’t just teach a system.
We believe successful trading stands on three pillars:
• A structured trading methodology
• Solid risk management
• Strong trading psychology
When these three align, trading stops being a game of emotions, and certainty forms from a sea of uncertainties.

“Remember When Trump’s Tweet Crashed the Market?”

On October 10, 2025, everything looked normal—until 10:57 a.m.
A sudden tweet from President Trump triggered a sharp market sell-off. Prices dropped fast, catching many traders off guard.
That morning, our trading signals generated three entries based on our methodology:

• Entry 1: Long @ 6787.25 → Profit USD 200
• Entry 2: Short @ 6802.00 → Profit USD 200
• Entry 3: Long @ 6795.50 → Loss capped at USD 125

Even with the market crash, our day ended positive.
That’s the power of structure, discipline, and having a clear plan.

Why Day Trading Can Limit Unexpected Losses

News moves faster than ever—tweets, announcements, global events can all shift the market within seconds. Long-term positions often suffer most in such moments, as investors may face margin calls or be forced to decide under stress.

Day traders, on the other hand, operate with defined risk and short market exposure. This approach naturally limits the impact of sudden, unpredictable events.

At the core of our methodology are three key principles:

1. Always have a stop loss. Every trade begins with a clear risk boundary.
2. Keep exposure short. By closing positions within the day, overnight surprises are avoided.
3. Objective entries. No guesswork involved.

Staying Calm When the Market Isn’t

Good trading isn’t about predicting what will happen next—it’s about managing what happens.
When the market moves unexpectedly, a disciplined trader already knows his plan.

That’s what separates reaction from strategy.

At Concept of Price Trading, our goal isn’t just to teach entry signals or indicators. We focus on helping traders build confidence, structure, and risk awareness—so that when markets panic, they don’t.
