Some common errors in today's planning are neglecting inflation & GST and medical needs in your golden years. Costs of the things we buy today will likely increase next year, and the year after, and the year after that. Just ask your parents. GST will also be taxed at 9% by 2024. As such, factor in a 2% adjustment does help to future proof your retirement plan. πŸŽƒ

While topping up your CPF today to meet a higher annuity payout in the future does make some sense, it's hardly the most efficient strategy for most people as upsizing your annuity plan would means lower amount to consume when you need it the most (i.e. the golden years). πŸŽƒ

The staggered rate change, enhanced assurance package as well as the GSTV scheme have shown that the government is sparing no effort to reassure that they have the welfare of the citizens at the top of their mind. πŸŽƒ
