China has completely shifted to using artificial intelligence (AI) to operate and maintain its massive 45,000-kilometer high-speed rail network, the largest in the world. Controlled by an AI system based in Beijing, this network boasts a remarkable 89 percent accuracy level, according to engineers working on the project.
The AI system continuously processes vast amounts of real-time data nationwide and can alert maintenance teams to abnormal situations within just 40 minutes.
