These past couple of weeks have exposed the habits, excuses and limits I didn’t even realise I’d accepted. Looking back, I realised they were the very things that created a ceiling only I could break.
“Growth requires discomfort.”
Those words have been ringing in my ears all week as I’ve stretched myself probably harder than I ever have in my working years.
It isn’t just about the longer hours (as tiring as they are). It’s about becoming someone capable of carrying greater responsibility.
Just as the rain eventually stops, the work will eventually end. But who we become through the process stays.
For me, this season of growth is also a season of stretching with the Lord. He’s far more interested in shaping my character than simply increasing my capacity.
So if you’re in a season where the process feels more painful than usual, consider this:
Perhaps it isn’t a sign to stop. Perhaps it’s not just a season of hard work. Perhaps it’s a season of stretching with the Lord.
