My Client diagnosed with early stage of cancer at young age. The good news is, it's early stage! Initially she did not want to file a critical illness claim. However I asked what is her concerns and gave my professional advise and address her concern. So we did the paperwork and I just updated her that it's approved and she is happy with the decision to submit the claim. Now she has a emergency fund and can focus on her treatment and no need to worry about her financial.

I get this question quite a lot from my client: "I want to pay my mortgage early."

Yes, it sounds like a very logical thing to do to be debt-free. But it would be even better if you sit down with a financial planner (either myself or your financial planner). Your financial planner would advise you to invest your money to make it work harder instead of you working harder.

Here are the numbers comparing if you pay your mortgage early (Left side) Vs. Extend your mortgage as long as possible, and you invest the rest of the money (right side). As expected, you will pay more interest. But after 'x' number of years, you will end up with an additional fund that potentially could help you pay your mortgage just from the interest/return of your fund. And you will still end up with that investment fund at the end of the mortgage, which potentially could help you with your retirement planning.

I have worked with Tommy for a while. To many patients, the healthcare cost is always on their mind when they fall ill. I have had many patients from AIA, some under Tommy. Tommy would always do his best to help patients make the whole claiming, efiling, and cashless service seamless. So Tommy's patients can focus just on their healthcare problem, not so much on the cost
I recall one particular patient, who had acute appendicitis within a month after he purchased a policy from Tommy. Patient was worried that his claims may not get through as he has just bought the healthcare insurance policy. Tommy and I worked together, wrote several memos explaining that acute appendicitis is an acute illness and an emergency. There is no way that it can be pre-existing. The patient trusted Tommy and agreed to be admitted to do the surgery for appendicitis. Truly enough, AIA honored the policy and patient's hospital bill is fully reimbursed.
