I was introduced to Gold Savings/Investment by many different people since many years ago but I didn't care to find out more about it.

HALIA HITAM
=============

Halia hitam merupakan tumbuhan bermusim yang jarang ditemui. Di Malaysia dua jenis Halia hitam yang mempunyai nilai dalam perubatan tradisional iaitu halia hitam seperti dalam foto di bawah dan halia hitam yang mempunyai warna kehitaman pada keseluruhan bahagian pokok.

Halia hitam yang berwarna hitam pada seluruh bahagian pokok ini yang paling sukar dijumpai dan ianya sering dikaitkan dengan perkara mistik. Halia hitam ini berdaun agak runcing dengan tangkai daun yang panjang. Ketinggiannya sekitar 30cm sahaja. Pokok halia hitam yang asli ini ada ditanam oleh penulis dan masih hidup di kampung halaman penulis. Halia hitam seperti dalam foto di atas mempunyai daun yang agak lebar berwarna hijau dengan sedikit palitan kehitaman pada bahagian atas daun.

Rizomnya berwarna hitam keseluruhan bahagian. Halia hitam tersebut sebenarnya diperolehi daripada seorang pengamal perubatan tradisional Melayu yang memberikannya kepada isteri penulis untuk ditanam pada awal tahun ini. Pokok ini membiak melalui rizom dan pecahan rumpun.

Kegunaan
=========

Bahagian yang sering digunakan untuk perubatan adalah rizomnya tetapi daunnya juga mempunyai nilai dalam perubatan tradisional. Rizom Halia hitam ini dipercayai dapat digunakan dalam rawatan kanser payudara, ketumbuhan pada sendi dan penyakit kusta. Rizomnya juga boleh digunakan untuk kuruskan badan. Ia juga boleh merawat denggi berdarah. Rizom halia hitam ditumbuk bersama-sama beberapa jenis herba lain dan dicampur dengan sedikit air dan garam. Campuran tersebut kemudian ditapis dan diminum oleh pesakit demam denggi berdarah.
