Couple Empowerment Programme

Couple Empowerment Programme CEP shows you how to make your marriage what you and God wanted it to be when you decided to get married not too long ago. How is your marriage? and even more!!!

The Institution of Marriage is under threat . . .

1 in 3 marriages fail within 5 years of the wedding day. If we include separations and dysfunctional marriages the number of failed marriages is even greater. This situation is not what it is supposed to be!!! Going great guns, so-so or about to fall off a cliff? What is the mood at home? Frosty or warm and loving? How are the children coping? Are

they stressed and afraid or secure and confi dent? Oh and how’s the love-making? Hohum, “no-time” or exciting and even mind-blowing? Do you know that you can learn how to have a vibrant and romantic marriage? The results . . . emotionally balanced, secure and happy kids . . . loving and joyful family life . . . personal and financial success . . . spiritual well-being . . . Marriages fail not because the husband and wife are incompatible; they fail because they don’t know what it takes to make a good marriage. Who should attend? This program is designed for those who have been married for less than 10 years although all who attend will benefit greatly.

As another CEP run came to a close at the Church of St Teresa on May 2, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude for what God has done in and through the couples who journeyed with us over those 10 weeks.

This run will remain especially close to the CEP team’s hearts. We witnessed couples encounter a renewed depth of love and conviction, not only for one another, but also for the sacred covenant they made through their marriage vows.

From couples married just 1 year, to those journeying together for 47 years, each story became a reminder that marriage is not simply sustained by time, but continually renewed through God's grace, commitment, forgiveness and love.

Through moments of laughter, vulnerability, prayer, reflection and honest conversations, we saw couples choosing each other again and again.

Thank you to our dear couples who opened their hearts and trusted the process. Thank you also to the priests of the parish, and the parish community who hosted us with such generosity and care.

May the conversations continue at home, and may every couple continue to discover that love, when entrusted to God, will always grow deeper.

Beyond strengthening marriages and families, the Couple Empowerment Programme is also committed to a social mission of nurturing compassion in couples and families through acts of service to the community.

On December 21, 2025, 55 CEP volunteers filled Villa Francis Home with the joyful sounds of Christmas carols, bringing cheer and festive spirit to the residents. 🎶🎄

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers and the dedicated staff at Villa Francis Home for making this celebration possible.

Thirteen couples gathered in prayer and reflection this past weekend at La Salle House for a renewal retreat guided by Fr Derrick.

We invoked the Holy Spirit to move us forward as we embarked on a renewal of our leadership.

The CEP journey began in 2006. As we looked ahead, we also looked back on 20 years of mission to restore and empower marriages and families.

This time of aggiornamento (renewal) reminded us that we live and move and have our being in Him. It also allowed us to cement our commitment to serve not just in ministry, but as friends, supporting and walking alongside one another in faith.

It was a very beautiful and enriching weekend, one that was filled with deep sharings, openness, and the powerful presence of the Spirit moving among us.🙏

The recent CEP run at St Anne’s Church brought together 50 couples and an incredible army of 40 couple helpers over 10 heartfelt sessions. Week after week, laughter, food, and honest conversations filled the space and by the end of it, everyone was left wanting more.

We warmly welcome all 50 couples into the CEP family — a growing community of couples walking together in faith and love.

“Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me” - Matt 25:40

Despite tightened COVID measures in Homes, 17 CEP volunteers gave of their time and care to 29 St Joseph’s Home residents on May 25. They brought the residents in wheelchairs to encounter Jesus through the mass, the source and summit of Christian life.

The visit was a celebration of fellowship, with laughter and love shared over familiar golden tunes belted by Barry and Leonard, and a sumptuous lunch of nasi lemak.

It was a day that will stay in the memories of both volunteers and residents.

The CEP social mission team thanks all our volunteers and the staff at St Joseph’s Home for making this event possible. ♥️🙏🏼
