How can data centres stay energy-efficient in Singapore’s tropical climate?

It starts with rethinking how they are designed and operated.

In Episode 2 of CNA’s two-part Built on Standards series, commissioned by Enterprise Singapore, discover how Keppel contributed its operational expertise to the development of two Singapore Standards for tropical data centres. These standards provide a common framework that enables data centres to operate efficiently at higher temperatures, while bringing operators, customers and technology partners into greater alignment.

As computing demand grows, Keppel is also contributing to the next generation of standards work, including for liquid cooling, supporting more energy-efficient digital infrastructure and the continued growth of Singapore’s digital economy.

We place our trust in things we rarely stop to question — the medicine that heals us, the machines we use and the buildings around us. Behind that trust are standards: shared rules that help ensure products, services and systems are safe, reliable and fit f

We are pleased to announce that Keppel’s Connectivity Division has been provisionally awarded 50 MW of new data centre capacity under Singapore’s second Data Centre – Call for Application.

The award will support the development of Keppel’s newest data centre in Singapore, Keppel DC SGP 11, an AI-ready data centre on Jurong Island, with an expected investment of more than S$1 billion. We are pleased to share that Keppel has been ranked 1st out of 458 listed companies in the General Category of the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (SGTI) 2026, with an overall score of 114.6, improving from 109.7 in 2025.

The SGTI is aimed at assessing companies on their corporate governance disclosure and practices, as well as the timeliness, accessibility and transparency of their financial results announcements. The overall score has two components: the base score and the adjustment for bonuses and penalties. The base score comprises five domains: board responsibilities, rights of shareholders, ESG and stakeholders, accountability and audit, and disclosure and transparency. The aggregate of the bonuses and penalties is incorporated to the base score to arrive at the company’s overall SGTI score.

The SGTI is a joint initiative of CPA Australia, NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability, and Singapore Institute of Directors, supported by The Business Times.

The New Keppel delivered strong results despite a volatile global environment, achieving 25% growth in net profit for 1H 2026. We surpassed our $100 billion FUM target in 2026 with about $106 billion by end-July. We announced about $1.7 billion of asset monetisation year to date and established a clear pathway to monetise our legacy rigs that would generate cash and create a new fund. We also reached key operating and commercial milestones with the Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant and the Bifrost Cable System now contributing to our growing base of recurring income.

These reflect the continued ex*****on of our strategy as a global asset manager and operator, creating long-term value for our Limited Partners, shareholders, and customers.

As AI adoption accelerates, demand for digital and energy infrastructure continues to grow. With our integrated ecosystem spanning capital, digital infrastructure and power, Keppel is well-positioned to capture these opportunities.
