A Stock Exchange is an Organized and regulated financial market where securities are bought and sold at prices governed by the forces of demand and supply. Stock exchanges impose stringent rules, listing requirements, and statutory requirements that are binding on all listed and trading parties. The Rwanda Stock Exchange Limited was incorporated on 7th October 2005 with the objective of carrying out stock market operations. The Stock Exchange was demutualised from the start as it was registered as a company limited by shares.

Rwanda Stock Exchange, in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority Rwanda and other stakeholders, engaged enterprises from Rubavu, Karongi, Rutsiro, Nyabihu and Ngororero.

The discussions focused on how equity listings and bond issuances can provide long-term capital to support business expansion.

The Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) team, working alongside the Capital Market Authority (CMA Rwanda) and other stakeholders, took part in a capital markets outreach in Rusizi.

We engaged business owners and companies from Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts in the Western Province on how to raise long term capital to grow and expand their businesses through equity listings and bond issuances on the RSE.

Building a stronger capital market, one conversation at a time.
