On 🗓️April 6, 2026, in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), 📌the National Institute for
Economic Research of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, in partnership
with the📌 Institute for World Economy of the Romanian Academy, organized the
International Workshop ”Financial and Fiscal Integration of the Republic of Moldova: Challenges and Perspectives”. The workshop was organized in the context of the
bilateral project ”Enhancing expertise in financial and fiscal ”; (PN-IV-
P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052), funded by UEFISCDI, through Program 5.8. – European
and International Cooperation Bilateral/multilateral Subprogram Collaboration
projects with the Republic of Moldova – 5.8.3.
The workshop aimed to provide a platform for scientific and institutional dialogue on
the financial and fiscal integration processes of the Republic of Moldova in the
context of the European path. The event brought together researchers, experts,
representatives of the academic environment and public authorities from the
Republic of Moldova and Romania. The event addressed topics such as:
• access to finance and SME development;
• implementation of the Growth Plan and economic competitiveness;
• alignment of the regulatory framework with European standards;
• monetary stability and financial integration;
• modernization of fiscal control and strengthening institutional resilience;
• financial literacy and convergence of accounting practices.
The debates were attended by experts from the following institutions:
• Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova;
• Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization;
• Institute of World Economy of the Romanian Academy;
• Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and other academic institutions.
Objective of the event: The event aimed to consolidate scientific expertise and
facilitate the transfer of good practices between the Republic of Moldova and
Romania, in order to support the European integration process.
