Qatar Insurance (QIC) has announced its financial results for Q1 2026, delivering a strong and resilient performance despite a quarter marked by geopolitical tensions and global market volatility.

QIC’s diversified strategy, disciplined underwriting, and robust investment portfolio continue to drive stable growth and long-term value creation across Qatar, the MENA region, and international markets.

*Net Profit increased by 6% YoY to QAR 217 million
*Gross Written Premiums (GWP)* rose 13% YoY to QAR 3.2 billion
*Insurance Service Result surged 70% YoY to QAR 130 million
*Investment Income grew 10% YoY to QAR 238 million
*Return on Investment* improved to 5.3%

Commenting on the results, Salem Al Mannai, Group Chief Executive Officer, added: “While global conditions shifted significantly during the quarter, QIC continued to expand across key markets. Our balanced portfolio across personal, commercial, life, medical, and specialty lines, alongside our reinsurance operations, has strengthened our resilience and supported sustainable growth. At the same time, our continued investment in technology and our all-in-one digital ecosystem remains central to delivering seamless, customer-focused experiences.”

QIC’s geographical diversification remains a core strength, with 56% of GWPs generated from Qatar and MENA operations and 44% from international markets. Its QAR 18 billion investment portfolio also delivered solid returns, reflecting a prudent and well-diversified allocation strategy.

Qatar Insurance Approves 11% Dividend Amid Strong 2025 Performance

Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) held its Annual and Extraordinary General Assemblies on 12 March 2026 via Microsoft Teams. Shareholders approved an 11% cash dividend for FY2025, reflecting the company’s robust growth and strong financial results.

QIC reported QAR 874 million net profit before Pillar Two taxes, up 19% year-on-year, with QAR 791 million attributable to shareholders. Gross Written Premiums reached QAR 9.9 billion, while earnings per share rose to QAR 0.188.

Chairman H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal bin Thani Jassim Al Thani highlighted the company’s resilient strategy and balanced portfolio supporting long-term shareholder value. Group CEO Salem Al Mannai emphasized ongoing digital innovation, enhanced customer experience, and international expansion.

Key highlights for 2025 included:

Launch of Qatar’s first school fees protection and personal cyber insurance.
Expanded QIC App features for on-the-spot car insurance and event ticketing.
Hosting of MENA InsurTech and FinTech Summits, attracting 1,500+ industry leaders.

The Assembly also approved Board elections, related-party transactions, corporate governance updates, and auditor appointments. Amendments to the Company’s Articles of Association were approved at the EGM to comply with Qatar Financial Markets Authority regulations.

Board Leadership: H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal bin Thani Jassim Al Thani confirmed as Chairman; Mr. Abdulrahman Issa Al Mannai elected Vice Chairman.
