What you feel in a space is part of its design.
Some spaces welcome us. Others make us uneasy. Some stay with us long after we leave.
Before we can explain why, we already feel something.
That experience is the starting point for PropUP’s new direction: bringing science and design together, with people at the heart of every space.
For more than 15 years, I explored biological mechanisms in developmental biology and neuroscience. Today, I combine that experience with interior design and overseeing renovation works, bringing one question to every project:
How can our surroundings become part of the way we care for our wellbeing?
We pay attention to what we eat. We make time for exercise. The spaces where we live, rest, work and learn deserve that same attention.
Light, colour, materials and layout are considered with purpose. Design choices are informed by scientific evidence and tailored to the needs, routines and identity of the people who use each space.
This is the approach to neurodesign I am developing at PropUP.
From our homes to schools, hospitals and offices. And to properties for sale, where design can help reveal their potential and create a connection with those who visit.
At PropUP, every project begins with a question: what do you want this space to convey?
