Today, we hosted Tammy Reynolds, Director for Growth, UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and other representatives from the FCDO.

The FCDO has worked closely with us on the Lagos International Financial Centre (LIFC) journey, providing technical support from its earliest days. Today was a chance to show how far we have come together, and how Nigeria's public and private sectors are working side by side to build a globally competitive financial centre.

We also looked ahead: at the priorities now emerging, and the areas where we will keep working together to strengthen Nigeria's financial ecosystem.

Partnerships like this are built on trust, patience and shared ambition.

7KM Sustainability walk 2026 was a success.

We joined industry leaders, professionals and partners across Nigeria's finance and investment sectors at the 7KM Walk for Sustainability, jointly organised by , FUND MANAGERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (FMAN), , - ASSOCIATION OF SECURITIES DEALING HOUSES OF NIGERIA, Institute of Capital Market Registrars, of Issuing Houses of Nigeria, and EnterpriseNGR.

This year's focus on climate risk was a timely reminder of the role financial institutions play in driving long-term sustainable outcomes.

We are grateful to and Plc for standing with us on this walk and sharing our commitment to a more sustainable sector.

For more than three decades, Sonnie Ayere has built his career spanning banking, corporate finance and capital markets. His extensive experience across leading local and International financial institutions eventually led to the founding of , where he serves today as Group Chief Executive Officer.

His career has also been closely connected to the development of Nigeria’s bond and capital markets. More recently, he led the development of DLM’s Sovereign Bond-Backed Composite Notes, a financing structure that brings together sovereign and real-sector cash flows.

From his early years in global financial institutions to building DLM in Nigeria, Sonnie Ayere’s journey reflects a career closely connected to the growth and development of the financial services sector.

Highlights from a defining moment for the National Digital Invoicing and Financial Optimisation Strategy (NDIFS).

“This is one of the most consequential pieces of work Nigeria has undertaken in building the infrastructure for a modern economy and financial system. NDIFS aims to convert trusted digital transaction data into public revenue and greater economic value for Nigerians, creating an infrastructure through which economic transactions become more visible, more trusted, more efficient and, critically, more financeable.”
