For years, job seekers have been applying to listings that never really existed. Now, lawmakers are stepping in.

The Truth in Job Advertising and Accountability Act (TJAAA) — introduced in 2025 — aims to stop the rise of “ghost jobs” once and for all.

If passed, it would require companies to:
✅: Post only real, currently open roles
✅: Remove listings once filled
✅: Disclose how many candidates were interviewed and hired
✅: Protect applicants’ personal data
✅: Face penalties for misleading ads

This could be a game-changer for rebuilding trust in the job market.
