Bulls dominated the market for most of the session, with the index opening on a positive note and touching an intraday high of 1,123 points, supported by reports of an extension of the U.S.–Iran ceasefire. However, some profit-taking emerged later in the session, while the upcoming long weekend kept investors cautious, leading the index to ease to an intraday low of 225 points and close at 180,108, down 207 points (-0.11%).
Sector-wise, Banks, Investment Banks, Technology, and E&Ps remained the major laggards, collectively dragging the index by 325 points. Key decliners included ENGROH (-83 points, -0.94%) and SYS (-72 points, -1.59%).
Market participation improved, with total traded volume rising 19.8% DoD to 891.3mn shares, while CNERGY led the volume chart with 247mn shares traded.

*Closing Bell 🔔- Stock Masters*

The KSE-100 Index closed lower after a volatile session, as persistent geopolitical uncertainty continued to weigh on investor sentiment. Despite intermittent recoveries during the day, cautious trading and profit-taking kept the benchmark under pressure, reflecting investors' preference to remain on the sidelines amid the uncertain external environment.
During intraday trading, the index reached a low of -1,431 points before closing at 175,548
down 495 points or 0.28%.
Sector-wise E&Ps, Cement, Inv. Banks, Power and IT weighed on the market, collectively contributing negative 686 points to the index. Major laggards included ENGROH (198 points, -2.25%), LUCK (121 points, -1.76%) and SYS (86 points, -1.93%).
Overall, investor participation improved, with total traded volume increased to 711 million shares. TSBL led the volume chart, with 176.8 million shares traded.

- *Flow*: 0.493 MMSCFD gas + 12 barrels condensate/day
- *Stake*: PPL 63% operator, JV with MARI 32%, SEHCL 2.5%, GHPL 2.5%
- *Important*: This is the *4th consecutive discovery* by PPL in Shah Bandar Block

*Next*: Commercial viability still being evaluated. Reservoir looks "tight".

*Is it Positive or Negative?*

1. *4th straight discovery* = Proves Shah Bandar Block has good potential. Reduces exploration risk.
2. *Adds to reserves* = More indigenous gas/condensate is good for Pakistan's energy and PPL's long-term production.
