finally amended rules regarding Active
Taxpayers List (ATL), now taxpayer's name will be included in ATL right after due date of filing of tax return if he files within stipulated tim for example:
If tax return of 2024 filed on/before 31-10-2024, name will appear in ATL on 01-11-2024. So taxpayers don't have to wait till 1st March of next calendar year to see name in ATL list to avoid higher withholding taxes.
Further ATL list will be updated on daily basis instead of weekly. So even if you are late for filling of tax return, by just depositing Rs1,000 surcharge your name will be added in ATL list very next day.
However, later filers provisions hv to be considered as well.
