Brief History:
The Ministry was conceived by then Pastor Jose Luzuriaga of then Worldwide Church of God-ZAmboanga City Fellowship. One rainy morning of June 1997,Pastor Luzuriaga, who was visiting brethren and doing Bible studies in Labuan BS Area that time, saw some toddlers playing in the rain. While we were watching the kids enjoying the rainfall,he said " What if we gather these children

and start some tutorial classes on basic Education, specially on Character and Personal Development?..." After some planning, a Tutorial Class for toddlers ages 3-6 years old started on the 28th day of September 1997. Three volunteer teacher-workers,who are church members too, took turns in handling and facilitating tutorial sessions. They were Artemia Campilla,Engracia Agustin and Carmencita Agustin. The Ministry was then called "Campo Uno ChildCare and Development Center." Forty toddlers were initially enrolled in the sessions. When Pastor Luzuriaga was transferred to another area, the ministry came to a stop in its fourth and fifth year. But it hasn't end there. The new lay pastor, Pastor Nilo Belarmino who replaced Pastor Luzuriaga became on fire to revive the ministry. Because of his arduous desire to serve God by serving God's little children, God poured blessings for the reviving and prospering of the ministry. He worked hard and seek various assistance and resources to fund the ministry. Individual members of the church were very supportive. The IRIS Ministries of Florida,USA gave full full financial support to the ministry through Pastor Nilo. As a result for all these endeavours, on the sunny morning of June 12,2003,the foundations of Little Friends Learning Center( the new name of the Ministry), was laid and the ceremony was officiated By the Pastoral Team of Zamboanga City Church led by Pastor Joveno Jaralve. With him were the team members; Pastor Maximo Natividad and wife Josie,Pastor Guillermo Brillantes and wife,Pastor Victorino Magallanes and Pastor Juanito Calingacion. The Labuan brethren were in full force. While the center was under construction, enrollment of kinder-age children was going on. A month later, the center officially started its sessions on exactly July 16,2003. There were twenty nine children enrolled and sessions were handled by four volunteer-workers in the persons of: Artemia Campilla,Lea T. Agustin,Engracia Agustin, and Carmencita Agustin.

Our Story

Brief History: The Ministry was conceived by then Pastor Jose Luzuriaga of then Worldwide Church of God-Zamboanga City Fellowship.

One rainy morning of June 1997,Pastor Jose Luzuriaga saw some toddlers playing in the rain in Labuan,Zamboanga City, an OBS area of then WCG. We were watching the kids enjoying the rainfall with all delight. Suddenly, Pastor Luzuriaga said and asked me.”What if we gather these kids and start a teaching ministry on basic childhood education?”, I then agreed with Pastor Joe.

So, after some simple planning between us, a tutorial class for toddlers ages 3-6 years old started on September 28,1997. Three volunteers teacher-workers took turns in handling and facilitating the sessions, Engracia Quijano, Artemia Campilla and Carmencita Manalo, who are all baptized members of WCG. The ministry was then called Campo Uno Child Care and Development Center. Forty three toddlers were enrolled in the first year of its sessions.

Unfortunately, due to some uncontrolled problems, the ministry came to a stopped on its 4th and 5th year. But it did not stopped there. Our new Lay Pastor,Sir Nilo Belarmino became on fire to revive and continue the ministry. And through his arduous desire to serve our God by serving little children,God poured blessings for the ministry to come to operation again. Through Pastor Nilo’s effort and love, individual members of the church came and gave assistance.Sir Nilo was able to find assistance from IRIS Ministry of Florida.
