Tomorrow, the nation pauses to honor the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a statesman whose courage helped restore democracy in the Philippines. ππ΅π
One of the most gifted politicians of his generation, Ninoy became the youngest mayor of Concepcion, Tarlac at 22, the youngest governor of his province at 29, and the youngest senator ever elected at 34.
Beyond his titles, he is remembered as the fearless voice of the opposition during Martial Law, a leader who chose principle over comfort. On August 21, 1983, he was assassinated upon returning home from exile. His death sparked the movement that reclaimed the nation's freedom, and his words continue to inspire us: "The Filipino is worth dying for."
π Office Advisory: In observance of Ninoy Aquino Day, our office will be closed tomorrow, August 21, 2026. Regular operations resume next week.
