You thought you wanted this life. So you stayed. You followed through, kept your promises, and made it work. For a long time, you told yourself, “This is what I chose, so this is what I have to keep choosing.”
Until something inside you asks: “But do I still want this?”
Nothing may be terribly wrong. You may still be grateful. You may still love your life. You may still be proud of what you’ve built.
You just don’t feel the same anymore.
And maybe that’s not something to fix. Maybe it’s something to listen to.
You’ve grown. You’ve learned. You’ve experienced more of life. And sometimes, that means realizing that a choice that was right for you then isn’t necessarily right for you now.
Changing your mind doesn’t mean your past was a mistake. It means you’re giving yourself permission to choose from who you are today.
Try this today: Think of one decision, commitment, goal, or expectation you’ve been holding onto simply because you chose it before.
Ask yourself: “If I were choosing this today, knowing what I know now, would I choose it again?”
If the answer is no, or even I’m not sure, don’t rush to change anything.
Instead, write down one thing you’d like to explore and take one small step this week.
You don’t have to decide your whole future. You can simply give yourself permission to reconsider.
And sometimes, that question is easier to sit with when you don’t have to hold it alone.
If you’re at a point where you’re questioning what you want, what still fits, or what you might want to choose differently, this is the kind of conversation we can have together.
