Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 132, work in government offices and classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be suspended in the National Capital Region and the following provinces at 1:00 p.m. on August 28, 2026, in anticipation of the further enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) by the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR):

The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), in partnership with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), is currently conducting the Lakbay Serbisyo sa Bagong Pilipinas and Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) Registration for veterans and their dependents at the Pavia Multi-Purpose Center, Poblacion, Pavia, Iloilo.

Around 800 veterans and their dependents are expected to visit the activity to avail themselves of various frontline services, including pension and non-pension benefit applications and validation. They may also register for the Yakap Program, which provides access to outpatient and other healthcare services through their chosen Yakap Clinic.

The activity will run until 04:00 PM today.

PVAO continues its commitment to bringing essential services closer to our veterans and their families, ensuring that they receive the support and assistance they deserve.

On 17 August 2026, the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) successfully conducted the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Compliance and Good Governance Training for the second batch of Filipino Veterans Organizations at the Veterans Center in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo (CGEA).

Atty. Andrew W. Montesa, Atty. Jacqueline Rachel G. Liu, and Ms. Jenny Rose S. Manao from the Securities and Exchange Commission served as resource speakers for the seminar and graciously addressed the concerns and questions raised by representatives from various Veterans Organizations.

PVAO continues to uphold its commitment to supporting and empowering our veterans by promoting their active participation and engagement in their respective organizations, while ensuring good governance and compliance with relevant regulations.

Due to the continuous heavy rains, the validation period for pensioners with July and August birthmonths is extended by another one month.

Pensioners concerned are advised to complete their validation within the extended period to ensure the continued processing of their benefits.
