IN PHOTOS || TALA LEPROSARIUM 2026

On February 8, 2026, a meaningful encounter of faith and compassion was shared at the Tala Leprosarium of the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium in Tala, Caloocan City. The Holy Mass was presided by Rev. Fr. Virgilio M. Paredes Jr., OAR, University Chaplain, together with the leprosy patients in the shelter. In that simple yet profound celebration, we were reminded that Christ is truly present in every person we meet, especially in those often unseen and forgotten.

Beyond the Mass, the day became a moment of genuine connection and shared presence, where small acts of love spoke deeply. The flowers offered during the last Living Rosary 2025 were also given to the patients, becoming simple yet heartfelt signs of care and remembrance. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to JPIA-UE Manila Chapter for their sponsorship and presence, and to Dr. Alfonso Victorino H. Famaran Jr., head of the hospital and sanitarium, for the warm welcome and support. We would also like to thank our dear benefactors, the UE SCA CCP Alumni, for their continuous support in funding this initiative.

This mission continues, and we invite both students and personnel to be part of this journey of faith and service. Be part of UE SCA CCP. Register through the link below.

With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful gift of priesthood lived through faithful service and joyful dedication.

Today, we honor and greet our beloved priests Rev. Fr. Virgilio M. Paredes Jr., OAR, Rev. Fr. Henry Santiago, OAR, and all the priests of our Archdiocese with a blessed Priest Day.

Through your lives of prayer, humility, and unwavering commitment, you continue to be instruments of Christ’s love and mercy to the community you serve. Your guidance strengthens our faith, your words bring hope, and your vocation reminds us of God’s enduring presence in our lives.

May the Lord continue to bless your ministry with wisdom, good health, and renewed zeal as you shepherd His people with compassion and joy.

Happy Priest Day, Fathers!

Last February 18, 2026, the season of Lent began with ashes and a gentle reminder of who we are before God. As ashes were placed on our foreheads, we were reminded of our need for God’s mercy and the quiet invitation to return to Him with sincere hearts.

May the mark we received be more than a symbol, but a daily commitment to choose repentance, prayer, and deeper faith as we journey through this sacred season.

Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a “Special Year of St. Francis” to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the saint’s death. During this time of grace, which will extend until January 2027, the faithful are granted the opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence.

This Franciscan Jubilee Year, considered a gift for the entire Church and an occasion for authentic spiritual renewal, was inaugurated on Jan. 10 with a decree issued by the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See.

Until Jan. 10 of next year, the faithful can obtain this grace under the usual conditions — sacramental confession, Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the pope — by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world.

Furthermore, the elderly, the sick, and those who, for serious reasons, cannot leave their homes can obtain the plenary indulgence by spiritually joining in the jubilee celebrations and offering their prayers, pains, or sufferings to God.

Blessed to Bless this Christmas 🎄

Inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi, this outreach is a small but sincere way of expressing gratitude and solidarity with those who quietly and faithfully serve our campus community. Sa simpleng handog, nawa’y naipadama natin na sila ay nakikita, pinahahalagahan, at pinasasalamatan.

This Christmas, we are reminded that we are truly blessed to bless, called to share what we have and to live our faith through concrete acts of service and love for others.
